A November Auction to Remember - Help me pay for Secret Santa! Vikings, Arimaa, DS Lite Bundle, and DVDs!
- The DaveUnited States
I am trying very hard to clear out some space so that the games I own AND play have ample space to spread out their little chits and wooden pieces to feel all comfortable and such.Recommend
I'm also trying to recoup some money so I have a bit extra for Christmas, which seems so far off, yet will be here before you know it. I am on the fence about doing BGG Secret Santa (I really want to), and The Wife looks at me suspiciously whenever I mention it. I think I could win her over if I can move some or all of this stuff, so here goes...
All items will be listed with their condition, a reserve, and a Buy it Now amount (if there is one). I reserve the right to not accept a bid below the - ahem - reserve price. Someone posting a BIN will automatically win the game at that point. Bids must be posted in whole dollar amounts.
I will list an estimated shipping cost for each item. Note that this may actually be cheaper or more expensive than the actual cost to ship the item, obviously dependent on location of buyer, shipping options chosen by buyer, and other factors. This estimate is only that - an estimate, and in no way represents an actual cost. All shipping costs will be calculated AFTER the end of the auction.
International bidders are welcome, but be aware that shipping will cost you plenty. See SHIPPING below.
All sales will be completed through BGG Marketplace so that BGG gets their cut. See PAYMENT below.
This auction will run through Wednesday November 16. To
encourageprevent sniping the auction will end sometime between 6pm and 10pm EST.
If you must retract a bid please be courteous - use strike-through text on the original bid and geekmail me with the reason. I will refuse to do any transactions with a bidder that fails to follow this rule. No trading. No items on my want lists in math trades. No auctions. Nothing. Please be courteous. Please?
A listing will be created in the BGG Marketplace under my username. Buyers must purchase the item within 48 hours of either choosing the Buy It Now option or the close of the auction, whichever is earliest.
I will send an invoice including the payment amount and shipping. Buyer agrees to send payment no later than 48 hours after I send the invoice.
Buyer agrees to pay for any fees associated with Paypal, typically 3.9% of the total price (sale price + shipping).
For any items with a reserve and a buy-it-now, I will pay associated Paypal fees if the buyer chooses "Buy-It-Now". So save yourself 3.9% and buy it. Now.
If the cost of your purchases (excluding shipping) is less than $30 I will accept Amazon GC in the total amount (including shipping) as payment so that we may avoid Paypal fees altogether. This is optional, and a buyer may choose to use Paypal if they wish regardless of purchase amount. Points 3 and 4 would then apply.
Buyer pays all shipping costs, to be calculated after the close of the auction once the buyer has "purchased" the item in the BGG marketplace. Local pickup is fine, although I do not have a car, and the places in NYC that I can meet you are limited. Picking up from my neighborhood is the best, but if I must meet you someplace other than near my home or near my job, I will charge a $5.00 "Handling" fee to cover the cost of my subway ride, as I do not have an unlimited metro card.
Buyer agrees to pay for delivery confirmation, which is to protect both the buyer and myself. This is typically free if shipping via priority mail paid online, but if using cheaper shipping (parcel post, for example) then buyer must pay to add delivery confirmation.
I ship from 11209. I will ship items via USPS. I will try to ship via cheapest shipping option available. If items are not sent priority flat-rate, buyer agrees to pay for a suitable box, or agrees to wait patiently until I can find a suitable box for free.
If you buy multiple items I will gladly combine shipping, although as per #3 above, I will need a suitable box for shipping multiple items.
If you require a different shipping method than USPS Priority, buyer agrees to pay all associated costs. This includes requiring Fed-Ex, international delivery, or boxes wrapped in gold-foil. Note that international shipping is not cheap. I recommend checking www.usps.com and searching for international rates before committing to buying. I did just ship a game to Australia, and have shipped to Canada, so I'm not opposed to it, just know it's expensive.
I will allow the buyer to choose the size of boxes for some games that will snugly fit in a smaller box, but might be damaged if the USPS mishandles it. In those cases the buyer may choose to have it shipped in a larger box for more padding and protection. As per #3 above, the default is cheapest shipping. If the buyer does not inquire about shipping, I will assume cheapest shipping is acceptable. In cases where the buyer opts for the smaller, cheaper shipping, I will not be held liable for any damages that occur.
If you have any questions please ask me. I'll try to answer them as quickly as possible.
Thanks for looking, and happy bidding!
