Last month was the first time this list went over fifty thumbs. Many thanks!

Standard Introduction

The following is a list of the various games Lock n' Load Publishing has on its P500 pre-order list. As new games are announced and have BGG pages I will try to add them to this list. If I have missed anything, please add it. New games are towards the top, reprints are the last few. As always, giving a thumbs up to the thread, specific items, and posts if you like them is greatly appreciated and might help the list get more attention.

The subscription thread for future updates is...
http://www.boardgamegeek.com/article/6183837#6183837

Updates about production status or this geeklist will also be posted at the following link so you don't have to reread the header frequently.

http://www.boardgamegeek.com/article/6392453#6392453

Each game listed has a link to it's specific LnL game page. If you want to poke around the LnL main page here's the link:

LnLP has been posting lots of updates recently at...

News in the Last Month

Another interesting month. No new games were announced, but a lot of action on the preorder front. Lock 'n Load: Honneur et Patrie reached the goal of $7000 so it will be going to the printers in a couple of months. World at War: Into the Breach has reached ~$8500 of the $10000 needed in little more than a month. Nations at War: White Star Rising – Operation Cobra went on an abbreviated version of the GPS, currently it needs ~$500 more in orders by November 13. Warparty is up on Kickstarter [http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1408460255/warparty?ref=...] and has about 50% of the pledges it needs with a month to go.

Apparently the printer is running behind on Lock 'n Load: Forgotten Heroes – Vietnam so the current estimate is November, no details beyond it. Nuklear Winter '68 is at the same printers, so it will be pushed back as well but no specific date has been mentioned that I have seen.

General P500 list observations...

As it currently stands, there are 20 items on the P500 list [14 new, 6 reprints] which will drop to 19 once FHv2 starts shipping. Of the 14 new items, six are part of what I would consider core series [2 LnL, 2 WaWm and 2 NaW].

With the move of Cobra and Warparty to the new preordering system, it looks like it might be used to clear out some of the P500 backlog [on way or another]. Still too early for any big conclusions yet, but it looks promising.

Things to Anticipate... My unofficial uninformed speculation

In the LnL series, mention has been made of an BEF focused expansion to HotB, no word on when to expect it.

I would assume that Steam and Steel is the most likely new game to charge unless HotP keeps doing really well, but I really think it depends on preorders... without enough pre-orders neither of them will. But with things moving through the new preorder system quickly, I could imagine those falling back in the queue.

As always, if there any sorts of information people would like to see included in this list, let me know. I am not promising anything on the scope of the MMP P500 playlists which are/were detailed on a scope I cannot hope to match, but if there are things I could reasonably easily add I would be glad to.

There is no long comment from me this month. Perhaps in December.

Update 11/4/2011: The latest GPS totals are... "Op Cobra $4233.50 (needs $266.50- nine more days), ITB $9065 (needs $935), HeP $8123.85." Warparty has broken $4100 on Kickstarter.

In regards to FH v2, Mark said "The first production copy of Forgotten Heroes 2 just arrived. It.Is.A-flipping-mazing. The others come by ship, so we are talking 3-4 more weeks, but it will be worth the wait."

Also, the Facebook page has some cover art for the LnL BEF expansion.

Update 11/19/2011: Operation Cobra has made the cut and Into the Breach now has less than $500 to go. Warparty saw a spike in preorders to day, and now only needs about $800 more on kickstarter with 12 days to go. Apparently the BEF1940 expansion for Lock 'n Load: Heroes of the Blitzkrieg may go on GPS soon. Also, it looks like LOF12 will have at least one standalone game in it.

Update 11/25/2011: Warparty has gathered enough pledges over on Kickstarter... it currently has ~$8600 [of $8000 needed].

My take: Made the cut!

From the LnLP webpage...

"Honneur & Patrie (Honor and Fatherland) is the first expansion for Lock ‘n Load: Heroes of the Gap. The expansion introduces the French army into the third war to end all wars. Highlighting the fighting in not only West Germany, but also right into Paris, Honneur & Patrie features French conscripts, the Foreign Legion, Paratroopers, and lots of tanks. You’ll match AMX30 B-2 tanks against the best Russian armor, direct Jaguar airstrikes, and recon enemy positions with ERC-90 and AMX 10RC armored cars (tanks?).

The expansion includes 12, story-driven scenarios and plays out on the boards of the popular Lock ‘n Load: Heroes of the Blitzkrieg. With a plethora of new counters, new scenarios, and a unique perspective on some of the most beautiful boards ever drawn for the Lock ‘n Load system, what’s not to like?"

My take: Preorders looking good so far... only needs about $1500 more.

From the LnLP webpage...

"World at War seems to have everything. There are Cubans with SU-100s, South Africans with Oliphants, French AMX B-2s, T-80s with different armor factors, and a designer who seemingly ignores logic, but there is one thing that World at War is missing. That one thing is LOTS of American tanks. Into the Breach cures that. This expansion to The Untold Stories explores the Yank’s battle on the front line in the first days of the war. Now you get to fight with lots of Abrams, Bradleys, infantry, and even Sheridans. On the flip side of the tank, you’ll fight a mass of Soviets and Polish armor.

It’s great big fun, with some great big scenarios. There are 12 of them to be exact (unless you order the upgraded version with an additional eight scenario campaign), including an East German counterattack, West Germans on defense, and Amercans defending in depth, screening main forces, attacking, and counterattacking."

In other words, this expansion for World at War: The Untold Stories adds a lot of new scenarios while adding a lot of American and Soviet units.

New to the P500 list in September, and an item I am very involved with. Currently on the GPS system, needs $4500 in preorders by November 13 [has $4000 so far].

From the LnLP webpage... "White Star Rising: Operation Cobra is an expansion for the game White Star Rising in the Nations at War series. This expansion focuses on the events surrounding the Allied breakout from the Normandy beachhead over the course of a month in July-August 1944. White Star Rising: Operation Cobra adds the Canadians, the Free French, and the Free Polish to the Nations at War series in addition to new units for the Americans, British, and the Germans. White Star Rising: Operation Cobra comes with nine stand-alone scenarios, focusing on events near Falaise as the Germans tried to escape the converging allied armies. Among the topics are the Polish stand on Mont Ormel Ridge and Canadian efforts to capture the village of St. Lambert-sur-Dives. White Star Rising: Operation Cobra also contains a five scenario linked campaign following the breakout of American armored units during Operation Cobra at the end of July 1944. White Star Rising: Operation Cobra is not a stand-alone game, you will need White Star Rising to play it."

Now on kickstarter. Needs $8000 [on kickstarter, in addition to existing pledges via LnLP] by Dec. 2.

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1408460255/warparty?ref=...

http://www.locknloadgame.com/Section_Cat_Content_Detail.asp?...

From Warparty's BGG page...

"In Warparty, players take command of the heroes and armies in a fantasy world beset by conflict. An alliance of Dwarves and Men are pitted in a battle of survival against the evil hordes of Goblins and the nefarious Undead. To win, players recruit massive armies, build cities, develop technology, and conquer territory in an effort to defeat their opponents by ultimately capturing their homeland. Beyond the mere battling of armies and world conquest, players direct the development of heroes to explore dungeons, battle fierce creatures, and gain valuable treasure and spells that can be used to turn the tides of war against their foes.

To win players must either destory an enemy capital city or achieve an economic victory.

Player's turns are broken into 4 different phases:

1.Movement Phase: An army can move all of their units during this phase.

2.Combat Phase: An army engages in all battles and resolves all dungeons on this phase.

3.Collection Phase: An army marks all new territories they have conquered with their control markers, adjusts their new income level.

4.Placement Phase: An army spends their money on new units, develops or researches the ability to acquire new units, builds new cities and/or upgrades their capital city.

- Approximately 250 army counters
- 50 City and misc. counters
- Nearly 200 cards for spells, quests, heroes, monsters and treasure"

Status: Has charged, no ETA yet. Apparently new artwork may be posted in the near future.

My take: I playtested many of the scenarios in NW'68, and it is a lot of fun to play... with a really interesting tactical system plus a wicked chaos/random event table.

From the website... "We are excited to announce that Nuklear Winter ’68 is on P500. The former German territory, transformed into a wasteland by the war-ending nuclear holocaust of 1946, is the setting for this three-way battle for supremacy. Fight as the resurgent Drittes Reich with their powerful E-100 tanks and reworked Stukas. Assume command of NATO, with Patton M60s and Russian T-62s, or lead the mysterious Black Hand, mutant warriors who are masters of beast and machine alike."

The designer, Petre Tutunea, has created a thread with an AAR of a smaller scenario, that does a great job of showing how the game plays.

Status: Needs about 100 more orders. April's list had an interview with the designer.

My take: This one looks like a lot of fun and a nice twist on the WWI era. Probably one of the two news games closest to going to press.

From the LnLP website... "Steam punk, or at least a derivitive thereof, comes to Lock 'n Load Publishing! In 1914, after smashing a Russian offensive in the East, Imperial Germany unleashes its Schlieffen Plan on an unsuspecting France. Led by its armored U-Wagen strike force, the German army literally runs over the French and nearly reaches Paris before the Land Dreadnoughts of the BEF first hold and then drive back the enemy thrusts. By the end of 1916, the Americans have entered the war and their own fast and heavily armed mechanized forces are poised to enter the fray.

Huge, (over 100 feet long and crewed by over three dozen men) steam powered armored behemoths crawl across the devastated landscape and drive fear into their enemies’ hearts. From the might of the German U-Wagen to the overwhelming firepower of the British Land Dreadnoughts and the maneuverability of the United States Armored Conestogas, we see a war fought without mercy.

Steam and Steel is an easy to learn and play 2-player, steam-punk influenced, tactical-level game set in an alternate WWI, where we see that a breakthrough in steam engine technology has brought about a revolution in war. Influenced heavily by H.G. Well's The Land Ironclads, our Steam and Steel depicts armored units and infantry in the field fighting the massive land battleships with the assistance of mechanized carriers and an array of support weapons. An innovative reaction phase brings a degree of uncertainty to each engagement.

It is now 1917 and you are in command of a small striking force of infantry and armored vehicles charged with prosecuting the war and hastening final victory. Move out!"

Added to the P500 list in May 2011.

My take: Apparently doing really well preorder wise... perhaps the new favorite for next to enter production. Needs about 100 more orders.

From the LnLP webpage... "After a brief hiatus from World War II, the award-wining Lock ‘n Load game system returns to the Second War to end all wars with a vengeance. Twelve frantic firefights from America’s island-hopping campaign in the Pacific comprise this complete Lock ‘n Load game.

You will lead desperate Marines struggling ashore on Tarawa, face a counterattack of HA GO tanks at the Peleliu airfield, fight for Kitano Point on Iwo Jima, and more.

It isn’t, however, all about the Marines. Heroes of the Pacific comes chock full of the U.S. Army’s finest, as well as the Imperial Japanese Army. All drawn with the painstaking detail our fans have come to expect."

My take: Apparently BSAv2 may be getting closer to going to press, based on comments Mark has made elsewhere. But I haven't seen it mentioned recently.

From the website... "New graphics, errata incorporated, new variants! Britain Stands Alone 2nd Edition simulates one of the greatest "what ifs" of all of history, the German invasion of Great Britain. Historically, the RAF won the Battle, and Adolf Hitler called off the invasion, sending his forces east in a fateful decision to attack the Soviet Union in 1941. In Britain Stands Alone, players are under no compulsion to repeat this, and instead the decisive campaign of World War II will take place on the shores of the United Kingdom.

Since the map covers all of England, and not just the historically-planned invasion beaches around Dover, the players have enormous freedom to explore other possibilities. Would East Anglia be a better landing site than Kent? Or the West Country? Maybe the Germans would want to make a direct attempt to seize the ports of Southampton and Portsmouth? All of these possibilities, and many more, are within the scope of Britain Stands Alone.

In addition, Britain Stands Alone 2nd Edition comes with a wealth of further variants. The Germans might have enhanced naval forces, such as the famed battleship Bismarck joining the kriegsmarine a year early, or the Germans might have lost fewer torpedo boats and destroyers in the previous campaign for Norway. Maybe instead of using nothing but jerry-rigged river and canal boats for landing craft, Germany manages to develop purpose-built boats similar to the LCT's employed by the Allies in World War II. "

My take: It has recently said that HotF is a fair number of orders away from going to press..

From the website... "Lock ‘n Load: Heroes of the Faith brings the famous Lock ‘n Load system to the war-torn hills of the Golan Heights. It’s October of 1973 and the Israelis and Syrians battle viciously to control the thin strip of land that separates the two countries.

This is a complete, Lock ‘n Load module. Lead Israeli Centurions, Super Shermans, and infantry as you fight against the Syrian’s troops, and the Soviet-made T-62 and T-55 tanks. Eight scenarios cover everything from small infantry skirmishes to some of the largest tank battles yet depicted in the Lock ‘n Load system."

Apparently RForD may go on Kickstarter soon in an attempt to get more orders for it.

From the LnLP webpage... "Guys and gals, we are really excited by this Richard Launius (Arkham Horror and Defenders of the Realm) game. It’s a zombie game unlike any other, and we’ve just about played them all.

Each player receives a randomly selected character, represented by a playing card placed in front of him or her. This card has three zones, representing three decreasing distances to the player. Zombies start in the furthest zone and move closer each turn.

During a turn players six uniquely faced dice multiple times, hoping to match the icons on the dice in order to rescue survivors, uncover unique locations, and kill zombies with shotguns and baseball bats. Townsfolk can join your party and help as well as hinder. The cool thing is that the townsfolk that hinder also provide the most victory points if rescued. For example, the useful nurse allows its owner to heal one character wound each turn, but is only worth one victory point if rescued. Conversely, the screamer, who adds an extra zombie each time a zombie is rolled, is worth three valuable victory points.

Matching certain die faces also allow the player to draw a random location. Often these are helpful, such as the Old Bridge that allows the owner to kill three zombies per bat icon rolled. Not all locations are good. You might just pull the Graveyard, which adds three extra zombies to a zone of your card.

It is that unexpected fun and delicious tension that makes Run, Fight, or Die a hoot to play. And complexity? Gamers can pick it up in five minutes, non-gamers ten, and both will have fun. "

My take... a move away from the European theater, which will have less appeal for some but might attract a new audience. Apparently has gotten a lot of preorders, but running into the problem getting the last 100 or so.

From the LnLP website... "The nukes have flown, and darkness has spread across the globe. Yet the missiles didn’t bring the apocalypse many had predicted. Rather than total, the exchange of nuclear-tipped missiles was limited. Rather than complete, the destruction was merely crippling. Now the war continues, fought with a strange mixture of equipment—some of it more suited to a museum, some of it fresh off the assembly line.

And the war continues on America’s own soil. Devastated by the nuclear exchange, the remnants of America’s once mighty military, aided by a smattering of their NATO allies, fight against a horde of ravenous predators including Cuba, Nicaragua, and their Central/Southern American allies, hoping against hope to hold their country until the last vestiges of their mighty European army returns home.

Command formations of Nicaraguan T-72s against American M-48s, fight Cuban T-62s with Canadian Centurions, and battle against Soviet Spetsnaz with the indomitable French Foreign Legion. America Conquered introduces airboats that fly over river and swamp alike, Texan cavalry that ride disrupted infantry into the ground, mixed-equipment platoons that allow gamers to split their units to take advantage of their unique equipment, and American fanatics that will kill themselves rather than lose their country. New terrain includes swamps, sparse/destroyed city, and much more."

http://www.locknloadgame.com/Section_Cat_Content_Detail.asp?...

Also with a P500 offer, to quote the website... "Those placing a P500 order with us (and ONLY with us) will receive a special set of 40 "World at War: The 2nd War of Texas Independence: July 1985" die-cut counters and four-linked scenarios. These counters and scenarios will only be available through us. No other reseller or store will have these. Ever. "

From the LnLP website...

"Zombie War takes the zombie menace global. Infected individuals made it into several major cities before the airports were shut down, and all hell breaks loose. Players have to take the role of civilian governments trying to keep the populace calm, military forces trying to eliminate the threat by force, corporate interests trying to profit from the situation, and of course, someone is playing the zombies. Zombies are a global epidemic, and Zombie War maintains the chaos factor by letting players:

Rotate roles and play each faction
Keep their victory conditions hidden
Sabotage other player’s roles

Zombie war includes a 22" x 17" map, 88 die-cut counters, attractive die, and role, victory condition and player aid cards."

My take: Apparently a long ways from going to press, due to lack of orders.

From the LnLP website... "It's the summer of 1943 and Allied forces fight the Axis armies over the burning sands of North Africa. It’s a fluid struggle pitting tanks on tanks, and now you can refight these battles using the popular Nations at War system. Designed by Ralph Ferrari, here you’ll find everything you're looking for in a platoon-level game -armor, artillery, infantry that serves as more than cannon fodder, command and control, air support, and desperate close assaults that leave the victor in possession of the ground and the defeated in headlong retreat, all in an easy to learn, challenging to master, game system.

Desert Heat, which focuses on the fighting between the Americans, their British allies, Germans, Italians, and French, includes three counter sheets replete with the vehicles, men, and weapons of the armies that fought in North Africa in 1941-43. There are 16 scenarios played out on four 11" x 17" geomorphic maps with .75" and .625" counters."

My take: Too early for me to make any guesses.

From the LnLP webpage...

"The long-awaited sequel to Tank on Tank is here. Command T-34 tanks against Panthers, dive bomb Russian KV-1 with Stukas. You’ll experience all that and more with the same simple, fast playing, game system that netted Tank on Tank a Charles Roberts award nomination.

Tank on Tank East Front keeps the same fun style of its predecessor but addsmore units, airpower, and special characteristics for the Soviets. It’s fun, fast, and furious."

Tank on Tank East Front is a new Peter Bogdasarian design using the same system as 2010's Tank on Tank. A smaller game that can be learned in less than five minutes and played during a lunch break, Tank on Tank East Front depicts tactical ground combat in Europe in the latter years of World War II.

In the Tank on Tank series, players spend activation points [APs] to activate individual units or HQs [when can then activate additional units] which then move or fire. Players may not have enough APs to activate all units and may not even know how many they will have in a given turn, forcing them to prioritize their actions. Units conduct combat by rolling 2d6, adding modifiers, then comparing the resulting value to the defensive value of the target. Counters represent different types of tanks or infantry.

The first Corps Command game. From the website... "November 19, 1941.

As the sun rises over a new day in the Libyan Desert, the men of Reconaissance Battalions 3 and 33 are greeted by a horrifying sight. Massed columns of British armour are rolling around the open flank of Panzerarmee Afrika - a new attempt to relieve the besieged city of Tobruk has begun! The Axis must abandon the preparations for their own offensive and fight for their very survival.

In the headquarters of the Eighth Army, a clock is ticking. They have done the impossible and surprised the Desert Fox, slipping nearly five hundred tanks behind his lines. The opportunity to crush the Afrika Korps lies within their grasp...

Lock n LOad Publishing's Corps Command: Totensonntag
Totensonntag is the first offering in the Corps Command series from Lock'n Load Publishing. Corps Command games are designed to be played - they are light on rules and require merely a couple hours to finish. The emphasis here is on lean, mean and simple.

The heart of the game system is the initiative mechanic. The players' initiative rolls determine not only who acts first, but also which units move and how far they go. A player will often be forced to decide between getting there fast and arriving with the biggest force.

Combat hurts and then it kills. There are no complex tables or intricate subsystems, only an attack roll and the application of damage. As units accumulate hits, their combat effectiveness gradually declines until they finally shatter and fall apart completely. Players will want to pull their forces back before they reach such a level of misery and degradation, but will the initiative system give them the chance to do so?

Neither player is a spectator. The Commonwealth begins the game on the offensive but the Afrika Korps cannot sit idly by, lest it be defeated in detail. The strategic situation, combined with the initiative system, ensures that no two games will play out the same way.

Designed by Peter Bogdasarian, Corps Command is an introduction to not only a game, but a complete operational gaming system. Totensonntag is just the beginning. Follow on modules are in the works for Operation Goodwood, Prochorovka, and Kasserine Pass. Click HERE preorder a copy of Corps Command: Totensonntag."

Out of stock and back on the P500 list.

My Take: Given the large number of scenarios in this, I hope it gets back into stock soon.

http://www.locknloadgame.com/Section_Cat_Content_Detail.asp?...

From the LnLP website... "Friends of the company have been asking for something like this for quite a while, and we finally were able to make it happen. The "it" that we are referring to is the World at War Compendium --over 100 pages jam-packed with World at War scenarios, analysis and articles... Not to mention new maps and 88 new, die-cut counters.

The Compendium includes every World at War scenario and most World at War articles published in the first seven issues of Line of Fire. Why only most articles? We figured you didn’t need to read a Blood and Bridges preview. Additionally the Compendium includes over 30 pages of new material including two new scenarios, a guide to Soviet player tactics, and the long-awaited World at War timeline. Additionally, there are five 8.5" x 11" 14pt card stocks maps, which include all the WaW maps published in LoF and two new maps. But wait a minute, that isn’t all. There are 88 counters, which include counters from Line of Fire 1-7 and new Syrian and Israeli counters--did we mention that these are die-cut counters?"

http://www.locknloadgame.com/Section_Cat_Content_Detail.asp?...

From the LnLP website... "A Ring of Hills brings the immersive Lock ´n Load tactical gaming system to the windswept group of islands east of Argentina. In 1982 Argentina invaded the Falklands, or Malvinas as they are called in Argentina, easily defeating the occupation platoons of Majors Mike Norman and Gary Noot. This invasion set in motion what many have called Great Britain´s final colonial war.

A Ring of Hills covers this colonial war from the initial Argentine assault to their final capitulation. Included in the expansion are counters for the Argentine and British combatants, such as Royal Marine Commandoes, Paras, Gurkhas, and the Falkland´s Territorial Defense Force. The Argentines make muster with conscripts, Marines, and commandoes. There are armored fighting vehicles, such as the AML-90, Scimitar and Scorpion, helicopters, Harriers (yes, harriers), and even ship counters... nothing like steaming in close and supporting those troops with direct fire from a corvette´s main gun!

Five geomorphic maps ship with the expansion. Maps that cover everything from the ring of hills surrounding Port Stanley to the bare tundra leading to Goose Green. It´s everything you need to game the conflict. Well, almost everything. Keep in mind that A Ring of Hills, is an expansion. You´ll need Band of Heroes to play it."

My Take: The first game in the series and the one with the bulk of the American forces. An important game to be available, hopefully this gets back in print soon.

http://www.locknloadgame.com/Section_Cat_Content_Detail.asp?...

From the LnLP website... "World at War simulates, on a platoon-level, the war which began May 14, 1985 when Junior Lieutenant Yuri Andromnivitch's T-72 sent a 125mm HE round screaming into the guard tower on the ridge at Dankmarshausen, ripping mortar from rebar and sending head-sized chunks of concrete tumbling into the red-roofed houses below. Units activate by chit draw and formation, fire in a flurry of dice, and look good doing it. The rules cover self-propelled mortars, thin-skinned vehicles, support weapons, ranged combat, opportunity fire, ATGM depletion, assault and overrun combat. Better still, World at War is not just a game, but also a game system. Learn Eisenbach Gap, and you can play any of the follow-on modules."

From the LnLP webpage... "What could be more exciting than the publication of the 2nd Edition of the award-winning Lock ‘n Load: Band of Heroes? How about more scenarios? Twelve, in fact! Where can you get them? In Battle Pack Bravo!

Lock ‘n Load: Battle Pack Bravo contains 12 new scenarios for use with the components found in Band of Heroes and Noville, Bastogne’s Outpost; and they are available for EITHER immediate download from our Web site, or proffessionally PRINTED, carefully placed in a zip-locked bag, and mailed to your door. From Normandy to the Hürtgen Forest, to Monte Cassino and Anzio in Italy, Battle Pack Bravo has you covered. It also includes a return to Noville, Belgium, as the Battle of the Bulge wanes down.

Half of the scenarios can be played with only the components from Band of Heroes, and the other six use components from both Band of Heroes and Noville, Bastogne’s Outpost."
