Alright guys here we go the last of the 30 day's questions. Thanks to everyone who participated in this little endeavor as it's been a lot of fun and interesting read each day. I held this one as it was an a little deeper I guess. I also wanted to post it early in the day and give you guys some time to think on it.

If you could play a game with anyone in the world from any time period, 5-player max, who would your fellow players be?

As a final word to today's question I'm going to withhold my response as I don't want to influence anyone. So expect my answer tomorrow that'll be a solid 24 hours. Feel free to hold off on your response OR jump in and respond when you like.

Alright as promised here is my answer from yesterday's final day #30 question of our 30 days of gaming questions.

I'm a gamer obviously. I'd like to get together and play some games in a friendly fun manner with the people that I see as fundamental in making me a gamer.

Sid Sackson. I'd love to play with Sid. He had some games that really have been a lot of fun for me including Acquire one of my 10's. Can't stop being a classic die roller from way back when. I did recently make a PnP version of his game Holiday, it looks pretty coo. I've still never played Slueth and being a big deduction fan that does make me sad. I'm the Boss would be my top pick to play with him and I think it'd be a big hit with some of the other guys.

Bruno Faidutti. I do really enjoy Bruno's designs. They are goofy and chaotic yet to me still have enough control to give you a sense of accomplishment. Boomtown is a favorite of mine that got some buzz then died off, though it has been rethemed to a pirate game recently. I love the game Castle to this day and would love to play it guys. Draco & Co. is sheer madness but I like it. Citadels was awesome no doubt but now-a-days I'm not going to play it more than 4 players, however Mission: Red Planet really did refine the role selection system to perfection and with this group of player M:RP is the game I'd want to put on the table.

Alan R. Moon. This is an odd one to throw in there but honestly I owe a lot of incredible gaming hours to this guy. The Ticket to Ride series obviously...as I own everything in it except for the 1912 expansion to TtR Europe. Still there's so much more to his name that I loved. Wongar springs instantly to mind and I've only played it once. New England I've played quite a bit and had fun screwage times with. Oasis is one of his games that I think gets a bad wrap on BGG. I know in our group we all enjoy the game but it's not played nearly enough world wide as it's a super cool game. I like Capitol/Skyline 3000 and wish it were played more. My game pick of his to play with this group though would no doubt be San Marco. What a killer game this is. Simple area majority that gets tense.

So there we go those are my gaming guys in a fantasy world, obviously as Sid is no longer with us. Note I setup myself up for 4 players as that's my favorite number of players at a table. I also didn't pick my "Favorite" designer(s). I picked the guys who created the games that I feel have a huge fun factor to them. I would want this gaming day to be loaded with fun, laughs, chips, drink, and all around frivolity.

So I might be stretching this a bit:

My Grandmother - She taught me games as a young boy

Imhotep - I would pick Ra himself, but he is a God and not a person, so I think Imhotep is the closest thing.

Ben Franklin - I truly admire Ben. Wonderful and brilliant man.

Scrooge McDuck - My personal hero. Not a real person I know, but still, he is THE MAN.

I would play Descent: Journeys in the Dark 2.0 with my teenage son... or 3.0 if it's out by then.

I'd play the overlord, and he one of the heroes. To help balance it out a bit, I'll make sure he gets some tactical help from Miyamoto Musashi, Sun Tzu, and Che Guevara.

So, I could game with anyone in history, and the people I would want to game with are my old gaming buddies from my high school days. They would be Ben Hoxey, Dan Jones, Kerry Conway, Duane Rogers, Jimmy Sanchez, and Brett Katz. Only three of them do I still have any contact with. They don't play games anymore, and so I would love to sit down an introduce them to Euro games and see if it would renew the gaming fever that they had in the 80's.

Tough choices.

A game with Friends? a D&D game with My friend Calvin Klineman as the DM with Gary Bearden, Louis Weed and John Heider (Calvin is still alive as far as I know, the others have slipped their mortal coils. Have some of Lou's and Johns game stuff)

A game for history? Bring out Advanced Civilization with Genghis Khan (military), Thomas Jefferson (politics), Siddhārtha Gautama (Religion) and Aristotle (Science)

Just for fun. A railroad game with James Fisk, Daniel Drew, Jay Gould and Andrew Carnegie.

If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you like to be?

I can't answer those types of questions really.

There must have been a moment at the beginning, where we could have said no. Somehow we missed it. Well, we'll know better next time.

These guys sitting around a table with me would make for a fun gaming night:

Mozart - apparently he was a hardcore gamer and would stay up all night playing various games. He even invented a "dice game" to create minuets.

Chaucer - I've been reading The Canterbury Tales and this guy had a great sense of humor.

Salvador Dali - 'nuf said

Thomas Jefferson - I grew up in the shadow of his Monticello and Univ. of Virginia, so I've always been curious what he would've been like to meet in person. Very creative, inventive and open-minded and if he were alive today I'm sure he'd be into "these games of ours".

Taj Mahal would make for a good game with this group, a good blend of strategy and chaos/luck, and a nice laid-back poker-bluffing type feel to the game.
