On the 4th Saturday of the month, the CT Game Club meets at the Levi Coe Library in Middlefield. We usually get 8-10 folks playing various Euro-games for a good 12 hours or so. This past Saturday, turnout was hurt somewhat by great weather, but we still had 6-7 people for most of the day.
Strangely, it seems that we spent most of the day playing "lighter" games -- nothing with a playing time greater than 2 hours hit the table. Anyway, in the order that we played them...

"Ingenious" has been hitting the table a lot with my various gaming groups. There's more depth here than first meets the eye. It can be a very big advantage to have a new player on your right - playing defense is something that people don't always grasp right away.
We played 4 player - Brian won - he's beaten me several times running now.

Carl Long and I played some two player games while the other guys started up a Puerto Rico Game. The dice were in my favor from the start, and I held on to win.

Just one of the best two player card games you'll ever play. Carl and I split two games, and both times it was a close call with who got the right cards on the last couple of plays.

Greg showed up and we had a few 3 player hands of "The Bottle Imp" - very clever and unusual trick-taking game, where the goal is to not be the person left holding the bottle. For some reason, Greg dominated, and won easily.

The Puerto Rico game took a while to get up and running because they were teaching a new player (Patrick), but the new guy held his own and narrowly lost the tiebreaker to Brian.

A few light rounds of Zendo to relax and unwind. This can of course be a very stressful game if the complexity gets too high, but we were doing simple rules like "must not have any medium pieces".

Great abstract tile-laying game. Todd and Greg snuck in a two player game while some of us went out for fast food. Todd was the winner.

More abstract goodness. Dave Boyd and I split a game a piece. I still like DVONN better - I dislike the "forced move" aspect of Zertz.

Dave wanted to try the new Carcassone expansion. We set up a 3 player game with the basic set, the "inns and cathedrals" and this new business with the dragon, the fairy, and the princess tiles. MUCHO NASTY! The dragon EATS MEEPLES! The carnage! People were fighting over the little fairy piece like their lives depended on it! Dave was able to manage the uber-farm to his advantage, and won by 50 points. Warning - this Carc. expansion is only for people who don't mind a seriously cut-throat game!

Ah, Crokinole! Dave Boyd and I both own Hilinksi boards (same people who made the board pictured here). Dave recently put a fresh coat of turtle wax on his board - and yikes was it fast! This caused me to lose confidence in my shooting - I couldn't nail the center hole to save my life. Various people played various pickup games all day, though I was never on a winning team.

We had 4 or 5 people playing with a few different "Sac Noir" variants. I wasn't too happy with the game "balance" (sorry for the pun) - some pieces are just too ridiculous to build with, and a really competitive game is always going to focus on the same wonky red pieces - gets in the way of building really tall towers.

By nine o'clock or so we had five people left, and we locked in a couple of hard-core trick-taking games. First up was "Die Sieben Siegal", which I'm told is a close gaming cousin of "Die Steven Seagall".
Anyway, this is a very nasty trick-taking game, where your bid is not just the exact number of tricks you want to take, but also the suits you want to take them in. There are no "happy" points in this game - you just want to get as close to zero as you can each hand. After five rounds, I narrowly edged Carl for the win.

Wizard is very popular here in Connecticut - it's probably hit the table more often than any other with the group in the last six months. So, this was a hard-core game with experienced players, and I was able to pull away and win by 70 points even while stumbling on the final hand. A very satisfying win for me, and a good way to round out the night.
