Still remains the only lightweight Crusades game. Lite and fluffy, early cooperative game. The Muslims have invaded Jerusalem and taken about half of the Byzantine Empire in the process. Up to 5 players lead Christian armies to the Holy Lands to take them back. First time the combat tower is seen.

Columbia games. One player is Christian, the other Muslim. First designed by "Hammer of the Scots" designer Jerry Taylor, then put through multiple months of tweakingincluding three different map design revs by Columbia Games's owners, who seem to be locked up in a woodshed with the game. Multiple scenarios. Highly anticipated.

Another highly anticipated GMT games G500 that garnerred 213 subscriptions its first week of listing. Looks to be a true multi-player game (4 Christian and 3 Muslim factions), with much squabbling between the Christian Knights purposely designed in. Multiple scenarios.

Described as a cross between Liberte (different scoring and winning conditions depending on what the players do) and Struggle of Empires (Control cities for victory points).

This is the invasion of the eastern provinces of Byzantium by Muslim armies, which is what started the Crusades in the first place.

An old Richard Berg classic from 1978 S&T cover both the 1st and 3rd Crusades. An amazing map, featuring multiplayers for the 1st Crusade and two players for the 3rd.
