Arggggggh! Shiver me timbers mate. We played at Mayfair's big board game site with some really nice people. Although Jimmy and I play other versions, I really liked playing the original way too! I tried talking Jimmy into building a similar board but he told me I would have to "walk the plank" if I misbehave...
All the way to Columbus, Jimmy tried to explain this game to me. The way he explains things, I thought it would be similar to Doom and I really did'nt want to play. Of course I had to try it (especially on the big board) and found it to be very intoxicating. On my recommendation, Jimmy bought it. Yeah!
It was late and we were on our way home but got sidetracked by a nice man setting up Carabande. It looked cool and thought it would be our "night cap" before heading home. What a spectacle. I came in dead last out of 7 but at least I was the only female among all those cute men!
The next day (Sat) we played a urban version of Catan called, "Vice Lords of Catizzle" from the Rogue Judges Gaming Group. I felt so at home among the drugs, money, homey's, cash and guns! Just like my school in the inner city! By the way, teaching got me in for free at Origins. So there is some benefit to putting up with little monsters 9 months of the year. It was fun playing but more fun trading HO's for guns.
The cute young guy demoing the game begged me to come play with this other woman. If she wasn't so damned annoying I might have liked it. I think the guy felt so bad that when I left he gave me 2 free decks of cards for me and Jimmy to play with.
We ended the weekend Saturday playing Candamir with 2 new friends we met from BGG. Amy, even though I was winning when you and Gene left, you and Jim tied for 1st when we were forced to end the game due to dealer's closing. I thought this game was interesting but long, but Jimmy is already coming up with a variant to make it shorter. He also bought this game.
