Oh, the joys of temping. Nothing happening at work, and since I was tracking a couple things on eBay anyway, I decided to sort by highest price and see what BGG-listed games were topping the numbers.

This list excludes stuff like the $500,000 Bernard Maquin gold-and-diamond chess set and fancy backgammon sets; just good old fashioned board games that I could find in the database. (So things like the 1898 Kris Kringle's Visits game and an OOP AH gamed called, imaginatively, The Game of Railroading, didn't make the cut.)

A copy of this went on ebay.co.uk the other day for over 100 British Pounds. Soon followed by another guy who listed his own copy with a reserve of over 50 quid - didn't see what happened to that.

One of these games recently sold for $710.00 on Ebay. Next thing I knew seemingly fraudulent auctions (currently being investigated by Ebay) popped up for the same item, with the same photos, and pretty much the same description (the seller had no feedback: big tip-off)!

This is a lot of money! People are being tempted to do illegal stuff for this game.
