It took a little searching, but we finally found free parking along a side road. They wanted $5 to park at the fairgrounds. Insane, I say! Fortunately, my wife knew where we should park.

I was starving, so we grabbed some food first. I had some tasty ribs and my daughter had a Corn Dog. Everything costs twice as much as normal, but it's a fair, so we can't complain too much.

Then it was time for dessert. My daughter walked up to the Dairy Barn and said, in a very loud voice "I want a chocolate twist". After a nod from us, they gave her a "child size" cone. It was a pretty good sized cone. I got the large and should have gotten the child size. The one thing that wasn't undersized and over priced.

My daughter LOVES horses. Earlier today, she took her birthday money and bought horses (and a "Great Prince of the Forest"). She had one in her hand and wanted to ride a horse like the one she had... until she say the red one. Then it was onto the red one. She loved it, but due to some confusion, many of us wound up with an extra ticket. (The lady said we had to have a ticket to stand next to the horses, even. Turns out she was wrong.)

Anyway, with our extra ticket, we rode again, this time on a "balamino" (Palimino).

We didn't actually play any of the carnival games or ride any rides, but we walked by them. The carnival is going on all week end, we'll have time to ride any rides we want.
