Sorting out the Empire Builder series

My group loves Empire Builder, and I was thinking of adding another version to our collection to add some variety. But it's hard for me to tell the advantages and disadvantages of each one.

We generally have 3 players, and we prefer shorter games in general. We can usually play Empire Builder in about 2 and a half.

Can anyone shed some light on the good and bad of these versions?

There's probably other versions I'm forgetting. If so, feel free to add it if you have an opinion on it.

Lunar Rails. Trains on the moon. That does sound interesting The two halves of the map look kind of challenging, though.

China Rails is the newest addition to the family. I just bought a copy for my wife for Christmas (she's a big fan of the series) and she is 2-0 so far!

This game has some commodities that can only be obtained out west, and that have big payoffs. On the other hand, it's not as common to get big payoffs on the outbound leg. This means you typically need to make the investment to make a trip out west before you can earn the big bucks (yuan?)

Just one game for me so far, but it's an excellent addition.
