Games played at my church's first "Kids' Game Night" (8/11/05)
I decided to start a kid's game night at my church. I hand-picked the kids that would come to the first one, but ended up with two girls (about 9 and 12) that I didn't know and didn't really seem like gamers.Recommend
I had one other parent there (not a gamer) and a total of 9 kids between 9 and 13.
It ended up going very well. It lasted 2 hours, which really left them wanting more.
I plan on doing these about once every 4-6 weeks. I'm hoping that as kids get more familiar with playing I'll be able to let them play on their own.
Although I've resolved these events as always being about games that get a lot of laughs, I certainly won't turn this into an "Apples to Apples and Cadoo Night". First and foremost these nights are about kids having fun, but I'm also trying to reach kids like I was: real smart and no one around with which to compete intellectually.
I'd appreciate comments/suggestions.
