Below is my Top 10 list of games with a strong dexterity element. These are games that meet all of the following criteria: (1) dexterity (in some form, as in, flicking, pulling, pushing, twisting, etc.) as a key element or requirement for play; and (2) fun to play. Having a compelling "theme" (e.g., fantasy dungeon crawling, soccer, hockey, auto racing, etc.) also helps; but is not essential. This is a list of the BEST! As always, your mileage may vary and some entries may be "controversial." As such, please feel free to comment, debate, or just express your own point of view. Feel free to thumbsup this list (to draw attention and more comments) or any pleasing, interesting or thought provoking entries. If I missed one that you feel is essential or I am "insane for not listing" (trust me, it has been said before), then by all means let the comments fly . . . just be civil. FYI - I am a sucker for comments and discussion and usually thumbsup most if not all of them.

I find that these lists sometimes are helpful for others seeking similar games and the more rich the discussion for more useful the list.

As a side note, I tried to avoid listing dexterity based games in my other lists (e.g., Top 10 Auto Racing Games, Top 10 Soccer Games, Top 10 Hockey Games, Top 10 Space Empire Games, etc.) as they would eventually find a home . . . here.

"This is probably the easiest ten I've ever given. Crokinole is a relatively quick, satisfying dexterity game that rewards skill and encourages that "one more game" feeling. There is quite a bit of strategy to disk placement and tempo can shift on any one shot. I would argue Crokinole is the *best* dexterity game out there at this point considering all the others I have played. Great fun, very engaging. I must give credit to the Hilinski's too; my board is gorgeous and really sucks you in (almost like you're playing on a lavish air hockey table or something). Love it."

"This is the closest thing to the perfect game I think I've ever seen. Simple mechanics, non-stop fun, a level of skill required but fun even without skill, non-gamers and gamers alike enjoy it, balanced with any age player."

"I was really skeptical about this game, it looked like pitch car in space. but I can't give it less than a 10. The game play is simple and you might feel after just a couple of plays that there is not much more to it, but if you use your imagination there are loads of strategies.

Important : don't get hung up about defending your home world, at first it seems sensible to build a protective wall around it, this makes slow growth . Get your ships right out there, get attacking quickly. harass and blockade other player planets to slow their advancement, then scoot off into the distance guerrilla style.

Take full advantage that every ship you shoot down, every planet you devastate not only damages other player empires but shortens the game, and that is the brilliance of this game, by being focused, taking risks and gambles, being prepared to lose the odd planet, you can control the speed of the game,

be ruthless, wipe them out!

A great big 10 from me."

"A great dexterity game with some added additional strategic decisions - and an off the wall theme - makes for a great game for adults and kids to play together. I feel like my fingers are sausages when I try and pry out that illusive purple egg. Fun game.

With even more repeated plays, this game will never leave my collection - it earns a 10. Quick, fun, anyone can play. What's not to like?"

"THE best dexterity game bar none.

I will never forget playing a metal player version from the 60s at the summer cabin. Or the time when I played a dome hockey session in Montreal, against a total stranger, and we took the game into triple overtime. I scored to win the game and then realized there was a crowd of forty, fifty people gathered around watching our battle.

A rod hockey game is a *must* have in any home where hockey is enjoyed."
