A really clever tile laying game about building cities in ancient Rome

Out of the box the game has competitive AND co-operative modes (the co-op puzzle is fiendish and chewy in equal measures)

In both versions you create districts in your city by laying tiles and closing off districts with roads then place coloured buildings in closed districts with matching icon colours

... in the competitive mode you only have access to certain colour buildings that are in mixed colour queues in short lanes between you and your opponents who are at the same time Lady-and-Tramping every queue to stop you getting certain building colours

... in the co-op mode you're trying to use the buildings before any lane reaches a certain number of buildings and you lose

Also there are edicts which change the basic rules of each game and end game scoring rules that need to be placed like buildings into districts of specific shapes

The game is incredibly well made too, everything is chunky and beautifully deluxe

The only issue is that the name of the game is so generic that more than once I've forgotten it WHILE reading it
