We are a friendly (we hope!), medium-sized board game club with around 15 regulars that has been running now for over five years. We play Euro games both old and new. We have a regular game of the month on at least one table and a bring your own choice for the other table(s). The venue is the Triple Crown Inn on Kew Foot Road, Richmond (next to the Rugby ground). We have the use of the meeting room upstairs and game every Monday evening. The room can accommodate 4 tables maximum. Games start at 7.30pm and finish around 11.00pm. The hire of the room is free and the landlord is happy for us to bring our own food, as long as we buy a couple of drinks each. The pub is a 5 minute walk from Richmond mainline station (20 minutes to Waterloo) and the District Line tube station. There are also plenty of buses and free parking after 6.30pm on the adjacent streets.
The upstairs room at the Triple Crown will realistically only accommodate a maximum of sixteen people. If numbers exceed this then the landlord has agreed that people can play downstairs in the main bar, but this is far from ideal.
For this reason, it would be helpful if members could join the club guild on BGG for announcements etc. In particular, it would be appreciated if members could post on the weekly thread if they are planning to attend that week as it helps to know numbers in advance and that way we can try and wait for and accommodate latecomers.
If you wish to pre-arrange games on the weekly thread (e.g. Twilight Struggle, Fields of Arle...), please bear in mind that actual games played will need to depend on numbers / table capacity etc.
We aim to start games at 7.30pm. Whilst latecomers cannot be guaranteed a game, we will, of course, try to accommodate them if an existing game hasn’t started and there is space to join in. Regular members might consider providing mobile phone contact details to Gareth T., Gary or Keith, so they can be contactable in case of late changes to arrangements etc.
