About Us, Getting To Know Us

We are a Nottinghamshire and Eastmidlands tabletop gaming group whom game every Tuesday, Currently operating out of the Vat & Fiddle Pub. This means that the club is not for under 17-year-olds and occasional Monday with Monday Night Battles a night more for tabletop miniature gaming.

We are avid tabletop gamers and play Miniature, Euro and American games of all types and varying complexities.

Ideally, the games we will play are multiplayer ones rather than the usual 2 players one's however with an active collection of miniature gamers we can accommodate those 2 players as well.

After all, it's all about encouraging a lively atmosphere.

The club engages with people and players of all skills and skill levels. The club also encourages novices and those new to tabletop gaming, and have no problems teaching newbies how to play and engaging with you on a friendly level.

We game every Tuesday The Nottingham Board and Wargames club is a tabletop gaming club based in or around the Centre of Nottingham. It was created by Matt Anderson and Gary Powell in order to encourage more gamers in the ‘Lead Belt’ to forgo the normal isolated style of gaming and be much more inclusive.

And it's about enjoying a challenge, having fun, laughing and drinking beer.

About Us, Getting To Know Us.
The Nottingham Board and Wargames club is a tabletop gaming club based in or around the Centre of Nottingham. It was created by Matt Anderson and Gary Powell in order to encourage more gamers in the ‘Lead Belt’ to forgo the normal isolated style of gaming and be much more inclusive.

While many people happily game at a friends or colleagues home they decided that gaming was more than just moving pieces around the table it was about having fun, socialising and learning about other great games out there by gamers impassioned over the game's they play.

And it's about drinking beer.

What We Are Up To
The club operates on a weekly basis with regular gaming nights and gathers a rather elective mix and as such can create a mix of boardgamers and tabletop miniature gamers, so we have now created a new Monthly Monday Night Battles especially designed for miniature gamers, this is a great chance to try something new (though this has been a bit quiet recently so we are running it more on a Tuesday until it picks up, but open to Monday Gaming.) And a Sunday Afternoon Gaming at the Ugly Bread Bakery, Market St, Nottingham, Once a month. We also have a partnership with ProjectTHISNG and HobbySpotz to run a Thursday Night Hobby hangouts whwre you can engage with those projects that normally get side tracked with other distractions... And an RPG Nexus Group to help GM's & Players Meet-Up.

The club also offers play testing services free for anyone interested in getting Feedback

Club Costs
Ok for those that are new to the Club the first night is free and we do ask that you buy drinks at the venue. We accept refugees from others clubs and organisations, including those from the industry who fancy a break from the playing company stuff to engage with others and a chat over drinks.

The Club charges a standard £5 per session (Subs), however, this does provide the club member two (2) drink vouchers worth £1.00 each.
We charge this way in order to enable venues to be able to lend out the room but recover costs via drink orders. This helps to keep overheads down. The Club also offers a subscription service to allow regular members to save on club subs but still benefit from all the clubs great rewards.
