An innovative system involving no classes but uses spheres of skills, similar to what was later used in Paranoia 1st Edition. A character can have one or two spheres and obtaining skills outside of the chosen spheres is more difficult.
There is no money, but instead a rise or fall in social status which governs a character's material status.
Magic uses an unusual system based on collecting and controlling nodes that are non-additive in power levels. A given elemental spell requires a given size elemental node and a collection of smaller nodes won't suffice. There are seven elements in elemental magic; Light/Darkness, Fire, Metal, Crystal, Water, Wood and Wind.
A second magic system - Spirit magic- is available and is expected to be run with the elemental magic system after the players become more advanced. It is based on controlling spirit nodes taken from dying creatures. Spirit nodes come with a spell already attached. Spirit nodes come in four types (humors); Vitriolic, Phlegmatic, Choleric, and Melancholic. Spirit nodes do not have power levels, unlike the elemental nodes.
Originally released by Heritage, it was reprinted by FGU, then FGU later released a second edition.
