Melanie R. Meadors is the author of fantasy and science fiction stories where heroes don’t always carry swords and knights in shining armor often lose to nerds who study their weaknesses. She’s been known to befriend wandering garden gnomes, do battle with metal-eating squirrels, and has been called a superhero on more than one occasion.
Most recently, her short fiction has been in the anthologies Champions of Aetaltis and Kaiju Rising: Age of Monsters II. She was also a finalist in the 2014 Jim Baen Memorial Science Fiction Contest. She's the editor of the anthology Hath No Fury, which is coming out from Outland Entertainment in spring 2018, and features authors like Seanan McGuire, Lian Hearn, Carol Berg, and more. She has also developed stories and settings for role playing games.
Melanie writes science articles and covers geeky news for the Once and Future Podcast blog, and she has a regular column at the GeekMom blog. For her day job, she is a publicist specializing in science fiction and fantasy, and she works with authors, publishers, conventions, podcasts, and game designers, in both traditional publishing and independent. She's also the co-director of the Gen Con Writer's Symposium, one of the biggest science fiction and fantasy writing conventions in the world.
