Kira Magrann is an artist, game designer, and queer feminist living in Columbus, Ohio. She organizes Indie Games on Demand at Origins and Gen Con and designed the fetishistic car game Crash Into You. An advocate for weird, sexy, and queer RPGs and LARPs, her tastes in gaming tend toward the conceptual and contemporary. She’s also working on many fronts to help build more inclusive and diverse spaces in gaming for all genders, sexualities, and races.
I've loved playing tabletop roleplaying games since I was a goth teen running my first ever game of vampire for all my goth girlfriends. Playing inevitably became hacking games for my home groups, then designing settings and supplements for other people's games. This year, I put out my first solo game, and I haven't looked back. I'm excitedly creating more worlds for people to enjoy as much as I do. My favorite genres to work in are queer, historical, horror, and cyberpunk, but I'm definitely not limited by them. I think that roleplaying games allow us to imagine we 're someone else for awhile, which is not only fun, but incredibly educational. While we're playing pretend, we're also gaining empathy.
