Ad Infinitum (2011)

From the convention description:

Tunge støvletramp går igennem de lange metalgange. Sveden drypper af den unge forsker, der bliver fulgt tæt af sikkerhedsvagten. Det er tydeligt de er på flugt fra noget, og man kan se i deres øjne at det er rendyrket frygt der holder dem på benene. De stopper op et øjeblik og kigger på hinanden. Forskeren peger ned ad gangen imod redningskapslerne, imens sikkerhedsvagten ryster på hovedet. Forskeren ryster på hænderne, og ved inderst inde han kommer længst ved at følges med de andre. Eller gør han? Da han kan hører kløerne slibe imod metallet, hopper han hurtigt igennem døren. Imens han løber imod kapslerne, kan han høre sikkerhedsvagten banke febrilsk på den låste dør.

Ad Infinitum er et action/intrige scenarie der bruger brætspils inspirerede mekanikker kombineret med masser af spiller input til at lave en fortælling om valget imellem overlevelse og selvopofrelse. Det er et konkurrencepræget spil hvor man spiller imod de andre spillere, og man kan vinde det. Mekanikkerne fylder meget i spillet, og man bygger selv meget af historien.

Translates to:

The sound of heavy boots eccoes through the metal hallways. Sweat drips off the young researcher who is closely followed by the security guard. It is clear that they are on the run from something, and you can see in their eyes that it is pure fear that keeps them on their feet. They stop for a moment and look at each other. The researcher points down the hallway towards the rescue capsules, but the security guard shakes his head. The researcher trembles, and knows deep down that he will last longer if he stays with the others. Or will he? When he hears the claws grinding against the metal, he jumps quickly through the door. As he runs towards the capsules, he hears the security guard knocking frantically on the locked door.

Ad Infinitum is an action/intrigue scenario, that uses board game inspired mechanics, combined with lots of player input, to make a story about the choice between survival and self-sacrifice. It is a competitive game where you play against the other players and you can win. The core of the mechanics is very important in the game, and the players build the story.
