Rod and Reproof (2014)

From the introduction:

1992. The Cold War formally ends. George Bush and Bill Clinton battle for the White House. Los Angeles is engulfed in riots. The Supreme Court reaffirms a woman’s right to abortion.

But we’re all kids, and if we know about any of this, we don’t care.

While our parents worry about the state of the world, we spend the summer of 1992 roaming the suburbs of northern Utah on bicycles, sneaking into cemeteries, climbing onto the roof of the elementary school, and playing night games for hours on end. We strain against obligations levied by parents and church, but nothing will stop this from being the best summer ever.
