This series is a collection of well-known copyright-infringing items.

These items are either:

• Unofficial publications based on trademarked games produced/distributed without license or permission from the copyright holders,
• Re-edited/re-released versions of previously published materials, often retaining the trade dress and trademarks of the original publishers,
• Illegal digitally manipulated versions of copyrighted materials,
• Publications that intentionally include a large amount of copyrighted materials, used without permission (especially images),
• Or some combination of the above.

This type of product does not necessarily include "retro-clone" or simulacra games, which legally implement various methods (such as an OGL) to re-envision or reverse engineer earlier editions of out-of-print games, without using any of the prior publisher's trade dress, trademarks, or copyrighted materials.
