Hallo,

Are there any good pirate themed games which good for 2-4p? A lot of people say about Merchants & Marauders and Jamaica. I never play them. Need some suggestions and recommendations from you guys!

Or if someone found the link of geeklist or any posts regarding Pirate themed board games, reply the link here.

Thank you.

I have not played it but you may want to have a look at Martinique which is for two players.

I have Jamaica; it's a ok game but to play with child.

Personnaly, my favorite pirate game is Libertalia. Plays at 2 but up to 6 players!

I don't know Merchants & Marauders so I can't compare.

Monopoly: Pirates of the Caribbean is definitely a legit and serious suggestion.

Unfortunately I don't have a real suggestion to save my karma, although I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's suggestions

EDIT: Actually I felt I really needed to have something useful to say, so I went and found a geeklist to link in:
http://boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/147282/avast-all-ye-scurvy...

Also, I have Pirate Fluxx I borrowed from a friend, nowhere near as serious as anything else suggested, but it's my favourite Fluxx that I've played. I did get in trouble for waking up my housemates because me and my friends were yelling 'Aye Captain' rather loud at 4am

Recently played Pirate's Cove at my FLGS for the first time. It was fun, and ended up being closer than we expected during the course of the game. One of the players appeared to be way out in front. But then we all ended within about 5-8 points of each other.

Box says it is a minimum of 3 players. I'm sure someone has come up with a 2 player varient. But keep in mind it wasn't designed that way. We played with three, but would recommend playing with 4 or 5. There wasn't much in the way of combat during our game.

And I disagree. When I first saw it, it looked like a board game version of Sid Meier's Pirates! to me and I expected to enjoy it a lot. And when I played it... it was a total snoozefest for me.
So you should play it before you buy it. If you enjoy it, then go get a copy because from a gameplay perspective you won't get much closer than that. But from my own experience I wouldn't recommend this as a blind buy.

Libertalia is a game I really enjoyed and it does have a priate theme. But it doesn't feel like controlling a pirate crew. It feels like... role selection... with pirates on the cards. It's a great game but not too immersive. However the artwork is absolutely fantastic and helps a lot. So you could have a look whether it sounds like fun to you or not.

Guess depends on what type of game you're looking for.

For me one of my favorite Pirate themed games is Rum & Pirates. It's a light game with a bunch of components but I always have a fun time playing it.

I also enjoy Loot, Cartagena, Pirateer.

I can't speak to the other two, but Dread Pirate is a truly great-looking, truly terrible game.

I'm going to stray from the field a bit here, and say Sewer Pirats This one has you assembling a team of rodents that fight over launching flotsam to float out and claim loot(garbage). It is a set collection game. The items are collected by your drafted team of rodents. There are some interesting combinations of powers and lots of thematic fun. It never fails to satisfy when it comes to fun.

I'll also cast a vote for Libertalia. The theme is pasted on, but the mechanic is one that continues to deliver for me.

I must admit that even though I didn't enjoy it when I played it, I'm currently considering to give it another shot for that price.
