Say the UK has a SOFT posture.

Say the GWOT Relations table is set to 1 SOFT.

Say the UK has a posture change to HARD.

Does the GWOT Relations table go to 0 (minus a SOFT) and then to 1 HARD (plus a HARD)?

Kind of like how points for objectives changing hands in Combat Commander can have a huge shift in VPs when both sides qualify for points holding the same objective (one side loses x and the other side gains x for a shift of 2x).

Philip is correct.

You can always calculate the current GWOT by #Hard - #Soft, with a negative number yielding Soft. In your example, assume there were 4 Soft and 3 Hard countries, including a Soft UK. 3 - 4 = -1, so the GWOT is -1 or Soft 1. UK goes Hard. Now there are 3 Soft and 4 Hard. 4 - 3 = 1, so the GWOT is Hard 1.
