Fantasy Flight usually likes to leave a couple of surprise announcements or unexpected releases for Gen Con each year.

Here are my guesses in order of most to least likely going to happen:

A new LCG based on a previously popular CCG from the 1990's (Battletech, Doomtown, 7th Sea etc.).

A new LCG based on a Games Workshop license (40k, Black Crusade, Battlefleet Gothic etc.)

A new Star Wars miniature game (not just X-wing expansions).

They have the Heroscape license.

And my personal favorite: They have the Heroscape license and are making a Star Wars version.

If anybody gets the Heroscape license, it will be PHG. I still think it died and hasn't been resurrected due to the moving away from big box games. FFG has been the most notable company to do so and thus it would be ironic if they picked up the license.

It will be the Dr. Who license.

But you didn't hear that from me.

Or perhaps they are dropping miniature lines (e.g., Dust Tactics, Battlelore, Tide of Iron) in order to devote their resources to new Star Wars and/or Heroscope mini lines whistle

There has been a rumor, they obtained license from White Wolf for a World of Darkness LCG.

They have licensed the Labyrinth: The War on Terror rules to create a Star Wars retheme set after the destruction of the first Death Star.

Didn't they already dropped Battlelore? And Tides of iron have been transfered/sold to a new company.

They have essentially dropped all big box games or made new editions with smaller boxes.

I would love Twilight Imperium 4.

But it's probably just going to/be an expansion for Relic...

My own little fantasy? Twilight Imperium: the card game. A big non-lcg stand-alone game with tons and tons of cards.

I think the current one is already the second edition. It would be the third.

You might want to checkout Mag·Blast (Second Edition).

Not exactly anything remotely close to TI though.

My guess is they will announce a "Hey, that's my fish!" RPG set. I'm not very good at guessing.

They've moved all their mini stuff elsewhere.... to make room for a Star Wars ground-based mini game that is compatible with X-Wing!

It's only speculation, but GW have gone crazy with license-issuing this year. (They have to keep up profitability, while their sales shrink, after all.) Unlikely as one might have thought it hitherto, I'd be willing to entertain the prospect of an FFG edition of Space Hulk or Blood Bowl, either this year or next.
