...and the prospect of having future expansions for other parts of the battle?

I'm not asking to generate derisive comments, I really am wondering.

So, tell me: is it the subject matter or the publisher? I've never purchased or played anything from Critical Hit, so I am completely unfamiliar with their output.

I'd love to hear what others have to say.

Never heard of it before now. That being said I am dubious about ACW at this scale. In my view the units fought in rather rigid formations of much larger size than is portrayed in this game description. Looks like a WW2 tactical system applied to ACW. It might be a good game but I am going to need a lot of convincing.

I am looking forward to trying this. I pre-ordered it when it was announced in 2006 because I like the ATS system and thought skirmish gaming in the ACW was a fun prospect. I am a little nervous about what it will be like...

I found Rebel Yell (a somewhat close in scale and scope game as I recall) to be fun, but a little dry with a lack of "color" (not much differentiation between units) and a bit of a slug/dice-fest. The units move up and start blasting - I have not played with the newer rules or newer games in that "series".

So, I am excited and look forward to trying this, but am aware that I may not like it. Can't decide until I try to play.

I agree with you; a little nervous, but I'm willing to give it a try.

I'm going with the ASLComp version, but have yet to pre-order it.

I was extremely excited for many yeas about this game but after 6 years hearing nothing at all, I had to temper my excitement.

If it is true that this will be published, a must buy for me. It has unlimited potential to game ACW and even Napoleonic battles.

Cool game but I am patient and don't ecpect this title anywhere soon.

I didn't realize this had been published until I saw it referenced in today's CH newsletter. I have been looking forward to this game for years, but before buying, I'd like to see some images of the components, plus download and read the rules, maybe look over a couple of AARs from the playtesters... But there's nothing out there either on the Geek or Consimworld Forums or at the CH site itself. I've got too many unplayed games already taking up shelf space to drop $80 + s/h on a game which is really a complete unknown at this time.

After reading the other thread in this forum, it looks like it hasn't been published yet. I couldn't really tell by looking at the CH website...

It sounds like nobody knows about this game.

Try posting images and/or videos of game play. Also show up to conventions with it.

This game is reportedly #2 in the ATS production queue, behind Desert Rats, which is due out within the next 2-4 weeks.
