The following examples show how some control characters in the URL itself are misinterpreted by the parser. In each case below the link has been wrapped in one set of [url] tags. Use %xx escape sequences to overcome the problem.

Google search for phrase -> "Qubic Games"
The " marks cause a problem.
[url]https://www.google.com/search?as_q="qubic+games"[/url]
using the escape sequence %22 for the " marks fixes the problem.
https://www.google.com/search?as_q=%22qubic+games%22

Looking up "Miami Beach" at the Merriam-Webster Dictionary
The "space" causes a problem.
[url]http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/miami beach[/url]
Use escape sequence %20 for the "space" fixes the problem.
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/miami%20beach

Aldie's wish list.
[url]http://boardgamegeek.com/collection/user/Aldie?sort=wishlist...|status|version|rating|bggrating|plays|comment|commands&geekranks=Board+Game+Rank&wishlist=1&ff=1&subtype=boardgame[/url]
The | characters are a problem. Replace with escape sequence %7C.

Using the weblink for the Wikipedia entry for "Pandemic (Board Game)"
[url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pandemic_(board_game)][/url]
The parenthesis cause a problem. Escape ( with %28 and ) with %29 to fix.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pandemic_%28board_game%29

A BGG Game search using brackets within the search is problematic.
[url]http://boardgamegeek.com/search/boardgame?sort=avgrating&adv...[]=1034&nopropertyids[]=1042&nofamilyids[]=4664&nofamilyids[]=4667&range[numvoters][min]=60&range[yearpublished][min]=2012[/url]
Escape [ with %5B and ] with %5D

Any ideas how to get this url to work:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1034852783/shadows-of-b...

Hmmm, I can't even get [c] to show the whole thing. The last part is:

comments?cursor=7876593#comment-7876592

It seems the ? is breaking it. Tried replacing it with %3F which didn't work.

concatenating the two parts in the browser bar doesn't seem to be valid. Not sure what the whole specification is.

Hmmm, not sure why it's not valid for you. The #comment-7876592 can be left off if that helps.

I found another link on a formatting page with a ? that works (not the actual link but the url shows up correctly):

https://boardgamegeek.fogbugz.com/default.asp?213_jv0g

What's really weird is that you change the url text to kickstarter.com and it stops working. Does the code actually query the url or something to see what the server supports? Baffled.

https://kickstarter.com/default.asp?213_jv0g=&ref=bggforums

And then making it google.com works again...
