The results of the Poll are overwhelmingly for a mix of Legendary and Dark City, so I am going to include Dark City in the Challenge. Weekly also just barely won out against bi-weekly. If you can only participate every other week, that is fine as well. This is just a place to gather and discuss our game plays!

I will post a new challenge every Thursday as I am capable.

Also, the majority of players stated they would play 1 or 2 players, so I will post my layouts for those two formats fully. For 3-5 player games, i will simply state what to add on top of the 2 player setup instead of listing the entire setup. If you want to post your results, start your post with the number of players your game was, followed by whether Evil won, Good won, or the Hero/Villain deck ran out. Finally put in the scores of the players involved by player number. You don't have to post your results to join in, I just thought it would be fun to see how everyone else is doing for those who want to.

Example
1-Player Games

Game 1: Good won! Player 1 - 19 Points.

If you play multiple games with different numbers of players, you can add them all at once, like below, or write a new post each time, adding multiple or single plays of the scenario as you like.

Example
2-Player Games

Game 1: Villain deck ran out. Player 1 - 27 Points ; Player 2 - 35 Points
Game 2: Good won! Player 1 - 34 Points; Player 2 - 33 Points

1-Player Games

Game 1: Evil won. Player 1 - 0 Points

I won't lay out the specific details of how to set up your deck for 1-Player games, I expect you all know how to do that by now (if not, feel free to geekmail someone posting here!) but remember to only use 3 copies of the Henchman Villain in 1-Player games.

After we have a couple of weeks under our belts, I will get more creative with these, but as a starter here is a setup that I find entertaining:

1-Player
Scheme: Secret Invasion of the Skrull Shapeshifters
Mastermind: Mr. Sinister
Henchmen: Savage Land Mutates
Villain(s): Skrulls
Heroes: Captain America, Daredevil, Deadpool, Hulk, Punisher, Wolverine (X-Men)

2-Player
Scheme: Secret Invasion of the Skrull Shapeshifters
Mastermind: Mr. Sinister
Henchmen: Savage Land Mutates
Villain(s): Skrulls & Marauders
Heroes: Captain America, Daredevil, Deadpool, Hulk, Punisher, Wolverine (X-Men)

3-5 Player setups list what to add to the 2-Player setup:

3-Player
Add Villain: Radiation

4-Player
Add Villain: Radiation
Add Henchman: Sentinels

5-Player
Add Villain: Radiation & Spider-Foes
Add Henchman: Sentinels

Please post your plays in separate comments from your discussion about the game!! I will be collecting all of them and posting them in a comment below!

Make sure to let everyone know about your favorite combos, card chains, or even misfortunes. Most of all have fun!!!

In my game of this, it came down to a late game deck with Punisher and Hulk to overcome Sinister for the fourth Tactic. The Marauders were being real pains in the neck with the bystanders, and we spent a lot of time on damage control cleaning up City spaces so almost let Sinister slip through our fingers.

Also, Daredevil's and Hulk's rares turned out to be Skrulls in the first couple of Villain deck draws, so they both escaped which also denied us of the possibility of gaining them for our own use and slowed us down!

Solo Game

Played till I defeated ALL Masterminds not just the 4. Also only used 1 Master Strike. Assuming using Legendary solo rules not Dark City solo rules?

Final battle came down to 2x Blind Justice Daredevils, and 2x Perfect Teamwork Captain Americas (18 total attack). Needed 12 to defeat Mastermind due to capturing 4 bystanders from defeating him the previous time.

Nice! And yes, I wanted to start off on an easier footing just to see the flow of things, then I'll start adding like the advanced solo rules, etc. into the challenges after a couple of weeks. Most importantly, you described what you did, so e conversation can follow from there!

Nice action there at the end. Did any of the big Heroes get away or become Skrulls for your game?

Hi! New to the site and saw your challenge.

I won but did not score too many points. Spent most of the game trying to keep the city clear of heroes. Seven twists and three master strikes went off. Three heroes and one villain escaped.

Finally picked up a monster hand on second to last round, including Deadpool and Cap's rares, and was able to hit Sinister 3 times. Drew Punisher and Hulk rares on final hand and that did it.

This scheme is really crazy sometimes. Especially in Advanced Solo Mode! It was the Uncommon Hulk and Punisher who helped me finish him off.

Welcome to the Boardgamegeek, and have a look around the Legendary forums, there is a lot of good stuff here!

Cheers!

Solo Game: Good won - 40 points

I usually go for recruit point heroes early, 'cause I just get so much enjoyment out of collecting heroes. For this scenario, I started right away with recruiting damage cards. I grabbed a few strategic recruit cards along the way. The win was mostly due to having Hulk Crazed Rampage and Wolverine Healing Factor teaming up from the very beginning to do damage and increase my hand. The final battle involved Captain America's rare with 2 other Avenger cards and ended up being a 23 damage combo.

I'll be playing this scheme 2 player tomorrow with my son. I'll post those results afterwards.

My wife and I play competitively and cooperatively, so she kept grabbing the Wolverine cards to keep me from getting them. My Hulk combos were working pretty well for me, though my timing kept falling off. Your game sounds like it was a lot of fun!

Played the game with my 12 year old son. Great game, just lasted over a hour and 20 minutes. We got slammed early on with high priced heroes fighting on the villains side. We did not have enough attack to stop them from escaping. Early on my son joked we should have played Love Letter!!

We had never played this scheme before, really liked it.

Can't wait for next week's lineup.

What was your best hand and which Wolverines in particular. I didn't get any daredevils in my last game, so I didn't get to really mix him up with Wolvie!

Had a wonderfully nasty facepalm moment where I had a HUGE attack and decided to wipe out Sinister first, despite the City being full of villains...d'oh. "Fight: Mr. Sinister captures Bystanders equal to the number of Villains in the city." Hahaha, shot his attack right on up to 13, followed by a Scheme Twist to make it 14...fortunately, I had a Covert Hero in my hand at that point or I would have lost all of my cards!

Fortunately I hadn't cleaned up yet, and it happened to be my last hand of the game :p!

28 Fight
8 Buy

2x Backflip
1x Hostile Interrogation
1x SHIELD Agent

1x Blind Justice
1x The Man Without Fear
1x Oddball
2x Keen Senses
1x Frenzied Slashing
1x Radar Sense
1x Can I get a do over?

I purchased the Oddball mid turn, adding +8 fight to my total. This was after a Master Strike. At least once I had bought a Frenzied Slashing in a previous turn.

I love the fact that there were only one of most of the cards in that combo! Lol. I love how the game continues to surprise me with card relationships, and in solo games especially. Thanks for the extra info!

My son (he's 8) and I finished that 2 player game. He beat me, which seems to be a recurring thing.

2 player game - Good Won

Player 1 - 31 points
player 2 - 25 points

The final combat was entertaining, 23 damage. The bulk of that was due to 3 Keen senses Wolverine cards and the rare Berserker Rage Wolverine card.

Damage cards:
3 - Keen senses Wolverine
1 - Berserker Rage Wolverine
2 - Healing Factor Wolverine
2 - Unstoppable Hulk
1 - Growing Anger Hulk
1 - Perfect Teamwork Captain America
1 - Shield Trooper

We usually play that we need to beat all 5 masterminds, but we just did the 4 for this challenge.

I assume we're using the solo rules and subtracting scheme twists? If so

1 player
Game 1: Good won. Player 1 - 15 Points

If we don't subtract them...

Game 1: Good won. Player 1 - 36 Points

Only used 1 master strike. Just took the 4 Mastermind Tactics.

Yeah, the subtracting of points is part of the normal solo experience in this game, so subtract them for Twists, Bystanders, and Villains that get away.

Looks like it was a pretty tight game!

My 8 year old beats me at X-Wing all the time. He surprises me with the combos he comes up with in this game all the time, though he has a ways to go to beat his old man yet. He mostly likes to see what happens when he mixes his favorite characters together.

I'm very glad to see other parents enjoying this game with their kids!!

Well, part of the problem was all the Skrull/Hero cards and scheme twists seemed to float to the top. The entire time, I think only 2 actual villians came out, and I only took one of them, plus masterminds. I had a huge hero deck by the end, though, and nobody escaped, and a lot of my non-Mastermind points were bystanders, but I lost 21 points on 7 Scheme Twists.

I seem to specialize in close shaves. I think it's why I'm hanging at the bottom third if the tournament list constantly, because I'm almost always winning, but it's always late in the game. I beat the Cosmic Cube scenario the other day with 7 Twists already out, and 3 cards left in the villain deck!
