The krauts never knew what hit them.

They had a few infantry elements on our left which made the mistake of getting in range of our elements in the towns. That plus a few judicious bombardments from our artillery positions cleared out three of the Nazi infantry.

By the time they finally got a couple of units onto the bridge, our artillery took out the armor, and a judicious rush from our rear infantry mopped up the infantry.

Quick and painless.

Berlin's gonna be a push-over.

This scenario isn't even close to balanced. With a brutal kill zone set up on the only assault point for the axis, this is bad enough. Add in that there are three or four axis infantry within range on the left and right flanks, and by the time the axis can even think of crossing the bridge, they are down one or two medals. All the allies have to do is sit back and wait for the Germans to enter range. The AAR's that report a close game must have stemmed from the Allies getting cute and trying to take the fight to the Germans. JimPAX (Allies) 5, Golux13 (Axis) 1.

I have to agree with you on this. Played the scenario last night and saw how difficult it is for the Germans. As the Axis player you have to pray for a barrage card or something to get rid of the artillery. If not, you need some lucky rolls as the infantry tries to go for the guns without getting decimated. After all, 5 medals comes quickly and attacking enemy positions in the city is as hard as it gets.
