I have to say I am puzzled. Why would someone bother to implement an online version of this game, with chunky graphics, when Days of Wonder already have excellent online versions of these games, with graphics true to the original.

While it is true that you have to be a paying member to start new games there, anyone can be a guest and join a game, and there are enough games happening almost all of the time for this not to be a problem.

Not a criticism, you understand, merely mild bogglement.

Chris

This is a play-by-web, thus you play when you want. That's why it can be better than the flashy real time version by daysofwonder.com

That's funny, because I do play the flashy real time version when I want. I can't seem to play the voitta.net version until someone else wants to hurry up and take their turn.

Yes, it is true that there is a large online community at daysofwonder.com thus finding players at most time is easy. However one must commit a block of time, around 20 min per game in one sitting. Play-by-web allows me to make moves through out the day, during down times at my work. Since I introduce my cowoker to eurogames 3 months ago, I have played less than 10 times on a real time site like BSW or daysofwonder.com. While I played over 30 games with my coworker because it is easier for our schedules.

Dont get me wrong, I like flashy daysowonder.com, in fact I think voitta.net need a lot more "flash". I feel that daysofwonder.com TTR is better than voitta.net but voitta.net, and play-by-web in general is much more convineint for many people's schedule, especially mine.
