Busy weekend for non-gaming stuff (and still suffering slight concussion symptoms from my "baseball vs. left temple" incident a few weeks back) but I did get my first play of

in with my youngest son last evening. Great game.

Got with some friends Saturday and played:

Dungeon Twister (I won)
Love Letter (came in fourth)
Hanabi (we scored 16)
Shadow Hunters (I was a Hunter, but a Neutral won)

On Sunday, I played a solo game of Onirim with the Book of Steps expansion, and lost by one.

In the weekend I attended Bobcon, a local gaming convention, which this year has been dubbed «Bastigliacon» because of the coinciding July 14th: among the others, we also played (French) revolution themed games.

The Resistance - Six games, varying between nine and twelve players: we played a rethemed version we dubbed «La Resistance» set during the French Revolution, with Monarchists infiltrating the Republicans. This game was also customized to accomodate up to fourteen players (although the non-official variants we played still need to be worked on).
Undoubtedly The Resistance is one of the best games you can play with a large number of players, even more so when there are a few non-gamers around the table.

Guillotine - Three five-player games: it’s such a fun game!

Brouhaha - A five-player game: when played once, it’s an enjoyable filler.

Diavolo - A four-player game: another great filler.

Shadow Hunters - An eight-player game: although it’s not as intuitive as The Resistance, it’s still a good game to played when non-gamers are around.

GiftTRAP - An eight-player game: depending on the group you’re playing with, it can be either a hit or a flop. Sadly this time it was the latter.

Jungle Speed - A six-player game: it’s always a pain to play.

King of Tokyo - Three five-player games: when everyone tries to hit hard it rocks (and doesn’t last too long)!

Cthulhu Fluxx - A six-player game: hadn't it been for the cover image and title, we wouldn't even have noticed it was Chthulhu-themed.

Sadly, have not played board games since Thursday, although will be playing some tonight!

Thursday:
1 * Kingdom Builder
1 * Seasons

It was the first time I've played Kingdom Builder, and seems quite a fun game. I don't think there's enough to it that I'd buy it, but that might be me being bitter that I came 3rd/4

Seasons was fun..I guess...I don't know that game confuses me, I just can't quite decide if I enjoy it, or if I just play it for the sake of playing it :S

We managed to get a couple games of Riff Raff in but I just don't have the reflexes to catch those falling pieces, last place both games.

Decided to stick to the dexterity theme but added more strategy this time. We played Safranito which is one of my favourites but sadly I didn't win this either, every time I managed to become first player my chips would get bumped and when I wasn't throwing first all of the good spices were being bought before I could get to them.

Lastly we shifted from dexterity but stayed with the lighter game play and played 1 game of Lords of Waterdeep and I finally managed to squeak out a victory but only by a couple points.

Was a good weekend for gaming, didn't fry my brain but still had fun.

So busy this weekend plus it was EVO (the fighting game Championships) so I was glued to the streams when I wasn't busy.

I got in one game of Tapple on Friday before heading out to the movies and that was it.

My wife and I gave Glen More a few goes, needing two learning games and frequent consultation with the game's forums here before we got a handle on it.

We also played one game of Fantistiqa, which is becoming a new favorite of mine. We played to 12 quest points, which opened the game up a little and gave us a little more time to cycle through our decks and develop and use card combinations. The use of artifacts and creatures became more apparent and important in attempt to meet the greater quest point goal.

The weekend began with a best of 3 Dominion tournament, won by my wife.
