At a tattoo show, a girl wearing extremely low cut pants had at the base of her spine:

If you can read this
you're probably fucking me

Hilarious. Who knows how she'll feel about it when she's eighty, but my guess is she'll still have plenty of attitude then.

You know, that's what really got me. I was going to tell her it wasn't true, but I could picture her replying "would you like it to be", so I just didn't mention anything.

My guess is she won't live that long.

Hmm.. so you're predicating her life expectancy on a tattoo?? Seems legit.

No, on the fact that most of her tattoos were about a promiscuous and drug filled life.

You CAN be promiscuous and live a long life, I guess.

She was over thin and sickly pale, sunken eyes, defined ribs.

If that's your kind of girl...

Actually, he's predicting (not declaring) based on available data.

Lots of tattoos about drugs and sex probably mean one will not be one that pushes the average of 70-whatever it is now, do you really disagree?

This is a perfect example of how my brain creates the image that I want. When I read your OP I pictured a fit, cute, young woman with no other tattoos and imagined that she had an up front but healthy attitude about sex.

She had a one on her arm of a gorgeously rendered hypodermic needle going in to her. It was impressive.

I don't remember her other, they weren't so noteworthy. It was a tattoo convention, after all...

I'm sorry that I was pressed to spoil the illusion. I liked leaving it up to the reader to interpret with their own artistic lens, and now the imagery is shattered.

Perhaps it was her first tat, and at one time she fit your description. Does that make you feel better?

I feel fine. I can keep the original image and I've gotten a good reminder of a mental bias.

PROBABLY

PROBABLY!!!!!

When placed in the same sentence as the word "fuck", geeks more often than not are completely blind to the word "probably".

Thus they are probably not having sex this week month season of Big Bang Theory.

Personally, I think it's easier to just NOT stereotype people who have tattoos (regardless of subject).

I have ink, so does my wife. So do 90% of our friends.

The only people I have ever encountered with drug related tattoos are serious users.

Its not a stereotype. Tats are like geekbadges. They show your personality and interest. Its intentionally advertising your life choices.

With all else being equal, if nothing else, getting a tattoo is marginally less safe than not getting one.

On things that really don't matter to me (for example, the lifespan of a woman that I don't know and will more than likely never meet) I am comfortable speculating based on the limited information that I have.

It sounds as if you aren't.

Remember, I am merely objectifying the tattoos, not their host body. I guess this is closer to the image I wanted in my mind than the one Paul described, so I'm just going to go with it.

I wonder, is that better or worse than a tattoo of a qr code linking to her twitter account?
