For whatever reason, every time I see the word Caylus, I immediately think Hoplomachus. It's exceptionally frustrating when looking through trades and auctions. Sure... there is a C and an A and there is an L in the second syllable, and they both end in US, but really brain?!? Every Time? shake

Am I the only one who does something like this, or does something like this happen to you as well.

Only for the really obvious near-matches like Domaine & Dominion.

Whenever people write about Origins game fair, I first think it is going to be about Origins: How We Became Human, and then am disappointed when it is not about the game.

I regularly mix up:

Goa and Navegador

and

Ra and Amun-Re

Those are the two most obvious ones I can think of.

I ended up buying a poorly rated game Overthrone because I thought it was King Me!. They are both known as Vive Le Roi in other editions. I frequently by online from continental traders and just saw the name with no picture.

I struggled the other day to recall Dominant Species, I had got stuck on Eminent Domain in my head. The closest I got was Origin Of Species, but Evolution: The Origin of Species was not the game I was looking for.

I'm also totally confused with all the tropical type names now: Bora Bora, Santa Cruz, Macao and so on. By 2015, I expect to be reading about the new Feld game St Kitts and Nevis. What's wrong with something solid like Woverhampton?

Kaivai, Vanuatu, Hawaii, Tongiaki: Journey into the Unknown, ...

But hey, at least it's tropical locations, not renaissance; that list would be at least hundreds! shake

For the longest time (even after I bought it) I kept calling Dungeon Fighter Dungeon Twister. Eventually my wife was like...what's Dungeon Twister? Then I saw the box and was like, oh...

Don't feel bad, my mum still confuses her own kids names all the time (Not due to mental illness either). So yes it happens.

How about that one Mediterranean goods trading euro game? You know, the one with the glum looking European on the cover in ancient garb?
