I'm running a PBF solo and rolling forum dice quite often.

But today, the post is always automatically submitted when I click "Add Roll", without the roll!

Here's the link of my PBF thread, with the latest three replies having this problem:
http://www.boardgamegeek.com/article/12890705#12890705

I tried in the Test Forum as well. The main thread I posted with a dice rolling went to an unknown forum. I have to try in other's testing thread and the same problem is still happening.

BGG has been updating code and all sorts of weird bugs have been happening.

I'd suggest checking every 24 hours and re-posting to this thread if you still have problems. Unlikely that you are the only one.

It mght help to know the name of your browser, the version of the browser, and what operating system that you are using.

I'm sure that it will get fixed.

Test: Rolling a d20... 1d20 = (17) = 17

It looks like rolls are working, however, the Games for Geekgold lotteries use a Geekroll based tool and that tool might now be broken. Some links:

http://boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/158628/item/2696831?commen...

Some of the rolls which aren't working:

troybowers rolls 1d635
indigopotter rolls 1d209
Schwartzkopf rolls 1d209

Can you explain how Games for GG runs? Do you roll the dice on the geeklist item, or on the comment?

We felt that rolls on comments were too much of an overhead and removed the capability.

We didn't realize they were currently being used in comments.

Rolls are made on the comment using this bookmarklet, which automates the calculating the number of entries for each user and posting the comments containing geekrolls.

User scraimer has created an awesome Javascript tool which analyzes all the people who pay Geekgold to be entered into individual lottery items.

Here's his page regarding the tool:

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/6240410/GamesForGeekGold...

The tool looks at how many lottery "tickets" each person has "purchased" and then draws a winner by Geekroll.

I put together a short tutorial a while back, to show people how to use Scraimer's tool:

http://boardgamegeek.com/article/10870536#10870536

Basically, so that all winners are drawn in a fair, consistent and trackable manner, all Games for Geekgold drawings are done with his drawing tool.

About 75 Games for Geekgold (G4GG) lotteries are run every month. Here's the current month's Geeklist:

Games for Geekgold (G4GG) - July 2013 - Carpe P.M.!

In another thread, it was mentioned that scraimer was serving in the armed forces and will not be back to BGG for a couple days or so.

The roll is done in the comments, by generating a geekroll ID and embedding it in a comment. However, the roll appears as a roll for the item under "Item Comment Rolls" - So I'm not entirely sure how to answer the question.

Um, you're not wrong - I am doing army duty; it's 12 hour shifts, leaving me very little time to sleep and commute. So I am available for questions but I'm too fuzzy-headed to do any coding (at least, nothing that won't contain a bug that'll come back to bite me later). Sorry!

Can someone who has the G4GG plugin installed try adding a roll to a comment again? I made a change that should allow them through now.

The science of history is a great bulwark against the stream of Time; in a way it checks this irresistible flood, it holds in a tight grasp whatever it can seize floating on the surface and will not allow it to slip away into the depths of oblivion

I hate the new die roller. It is really slow to open and you can no longer just hit Enter to get it to insert, you have to click the button.

And it still adds the stupid brackets and the weird space at the front, that's annoying.

How annoying is it? - 1custom3{Super Annoying; Very Annoying; SO Annoying} -> ( SO Annoying) -> ( SO Annoying)

Before, you could click and see a drop-down menu of rolls you had done before (making it easy to do another one). Now, it seems you have to retype/reselect your combination each time. Am I missing how to now pick from previous choices, or has this capability gone away?

Hey Daniel,

If you're still subscribed to this thread, the G4GG tool isn't working correctly again... possibly due to the recent comments changes?

Some discussion here:
