We have somehow taken to referring to the diseases by name, rather than just 'the blue disease' or what have you.

And the names we've given them are:

Ebola (black)
Rubella (red)
Banana Fever (yellow)
The Blues (blue lol).

Banana Fever started off as Yellow Fever, but Banana Fever is vastly more amusing IMO. And "Sometimes, you just can't cure the Blues" has been ruefully uttered more than once.

What do you call your diseases, if not by colour?

We call them:

Black Death
Yellow Fever
Scarlet Fever
Blue Flu

Blue Flu is the only fake one. I couldn't find a real disease associated with the color blue.

It depends on where the initial outbreaks start. But a few of my favs...

Anal yeast infection, sheep/cow buggery, Vikings, Zombies, Reality TV, Disco (popular in Saturday night games), various cults and religions, Sand Worms, Dragons...

And the absolute cruelest, most fearsome scourge of the Earth: The Funniest Joke in the World.

My dog has no nose!

In our group it varies from game to game, but the usual standbys are Red Death, Black Plague, Yellow Fever, and Blue Balls.

With the On The Brink expansion, I have them labeled:
Black = Zombie Virus
Red = Commie Cold
Blue = Bluebonic Plague
Yellow = Big Bird Flu
Purple = Bieber Fever

But when playing the game, we call them Black, Red, etc.
