Saturday 10th August will mark a century of meetings for Newcastle Gamers! This is a most auspicious event, and I can exclusively reveal that Cheryl Cole, Jimmy Nail, Ant and Dec, Alan Shearer, and a host of local celebrities will not be attending, so all the more space for us lot! This meeting will be an ALL DAY SESSION - we will commence around 10am and play will go on till the small hours of Sunday, when the traditional final game of Resistance will doubtless be completed by a few sleepy eyed survivors of the day.
Do join us! Turn up at any time in the day. There's always a new game starting up every half an hour or so, always more than 20 players in attendance and lots of games going on throughout the day. This is the essential info you need :-
Venue : Christ Church Hall, Simpson Terrace, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE2 1XB There’s a small Sainsburys close by, and various takeaways within walking distance. Free tea and coffee are available in the Hall, which has a kitchen area with microwave and kettle.
Price : First visit is FREE. (So if you join for an all day session you're really getting your money's-worth!) Regulars pay £3 each (£1 concessions)
Getting there : Car parking is also FREE (dontcha just love the sound of that word?) The car park is right alongside the church hall. Manors Metro station is close by and the city centre is a short walk away. Lifts home can sometimes be offered if anyone is driving your way.
The club meets regularly on the second and LAST Saturday of every month. Normally running from 4.30pm till midnight but on 10th August we will be opening at 10.00am to mark that century - be there!
