A gamer like me.

Really, I don't understand your question.

Edit: Except Space Hulk: Death Angel — hate that game.

duel of ages -- people who used to mix their GI Joe, Transformer, Star Wars and He-Man figures together

android: netrunner -- people who can recognize where the line "the sky above the port was the color of a television tuned to a dead channel" comes from.

mage wars -- people who lost at Magic because of the stupid draw

earth reborn -- fans of X-Com who are too masochistic to let the computer do the heavy lifting

claustrophobia -- anyone who wore Iron Maiden t-shirts in high school

catacombs -- Crokinole players who can't afford a board.

space hulk - death angel -- people who can't afford Space Hulk 3rd edition but still want to play an Aliens ripoff.

neuroshima hex -- people who don't own a tablet

eminent domain -- people who think Eclipse is too confrontational.

thanks in advance! -- don't know, haven't played.

Is this like an association test where based on the answers given you will diagnose people?

I love this game because it is really really simple, rules-wise.
You have to decide what the actions for your Space Marines will be, then resolve them. If an action gives you a special ability for the turn, it is written on the card.
You kill aliens or move to better positions or give support to your teammates.
Then the aliens attack your squad, and then you draw a card that tells you if/where the aliens move, and if something special happens, it is written on the card.
All the outcomes are decided by a die roll, this bothers me a bit but I can live with it because it is a really simple way to add uncertainty to your actions.
This is a tactial risk-management game, but quite abstract in a way; the illustrations an things are really evocative to me, but if you take "the formation" as a real thing, a lot of little inconsistencies seem to pop out.

I have just played the android app of this one. I love the gameplay but I think that in the cardboard version triggering a battle could be a bit tiring, just becaouse you have to consider which unit/tiles support which ones, or shoot at which ones, etc.
I think this aspect could requre some dedication/experience by the players (at least one of them).
This also has a component of risk-management to me (you draw tiles at the beginning of your turn, you have to play taking into account that the sniper that you need, of which there are 2 copies in your tile stack, could not come out right now, or next turn...) but much lighter than SH-DA.
How the units fight is totally deterministic, akin to chess.

HTH

...bwt, I'm also curious, why this specific question?
