This guide is meant as an aid for new players to quickly get into their first game of Descent 2.0, with the help of an least 1 experienced player as the Overlord.

Do note that there are a few more quirks of the game not covered here. Your more experienced buddy will explain these to you after your first game, or as and when they are encountered.

Not covered:
• How Reinforcements work
• Start of Turn
• Equip Items
• Doors (no doors in first encounter)
• How Quests work
• Campaign rules
• How to gain and spend XP
• Other Terrains
• Conditions
• Trading
• How to use Search items
• Blast
• Familiars

PDF Version:
Heroes Quickstart Guide to Descent 2.0 (comic-style)

French version:
Guide de Démarrage Rapide des Héros pour Descent 2.0
(Special thanks to Icesun)

Excellent!
Just a detail : on the second picture, you say that each game is one encounter.
It actually is one quest, which can consist in one or two encounters (each one lasting about 30 minutes).

While we're nitpicking, there are other ways to recover Fatigue, like Stamina Potions and some Hero Abilities/Heroic Feats.

Otherwise, this is fantastic.

To enter. Where does it say anything about taking 2 spaces to move around while in the water? I guess they mean to enter *another water space*, not water in general? I see now.

I'm going to print this thing out, I think we have pretty much got this game down now, we're at the finale.

In the frame "walls, closed doors and obstacles block LOS" i thought that line of sight example was wrong?

Because the hero can trace line of sight by the corners.

I'm sure that was in the FAQ, sorry if i'm being silly.

Yeah, my team is glacial, more like 2-3 hrs for a single 2-encounter quest. First playthrough though; hopefully the next fresh Campaign will be smoother.

That frame is correct. FFG has clarified that even though the two spaces technically share a corner, they are not adjacent and they do not have line of sight.

Depends on the quest, but ours also seem to be about 90minutes per encounter (so 3hrs for a quest).

It is quite linked to the type of gamers involved.
If you have "(over)thinkers", things can last loooong.

That frame is correct. FFG has clarified that even though the two spaces technically share a corner, they are not adjacent and they do not have line of sight.

Yes, I think there are a few threads here on LOS that discussed this fully.

FAQ 1.2 also clarifies this:
FAQ 1.2 wrote:

Q: Are spaces that are separated by a wall (edge of a map tile) adjacent to each other?

A: No, spaces that are separated by a wall (the black edge of a map tile) are not adjacent nor are they in line of sight to each other. Although the two spaces technically share a corner, the wall blocks both movement and line of sight between the two spaces on either side.
