I know that there is still a good amount of time between now and Halloween but I do like to prepare a good amount of time to read the rules and to get to know the game.
I was wondering if I could get some recommendations for fun Horror style games that may work for the Holiday.
I would prefer the games to be:
1) Not too gory or bloody.
2) if they have monsters I do prefer the classic ones.

Thanks in Advance.

Arkham Horror is a good game containing traditional and non traditional monsters. The horror is quite light.

+1 to Arkham Horror

Also check out Mansions of Madness

If you allow yourself to get absorbed by these games they can be quite spooky.

Edit: Ghost Stories

A slightly kid-friendlier option, in addition to the previous two, is Fearsome Floors.

Look also at Betrayal at House on the Hill

Gloom is fun, and they even have a Cthulhu version.

Betrayal at House on the Hill is probably the best game to feature the classic monsters. It has werewolves, vampires, space aliens, mutant blobs, doppelgangers, and lots more. It is very atmospheric and not too violent; in fact, some games have no combat at all. If I recall there is some description of blood but not really anything visual.

Be careful. The horror of this suggestion is not suitable for children or those of nervous disposition.

What kind of weight and play time are you looking for?

My wife and I have hosted a Halloween party for the last 6 years or so, and we usually play something like the following:

--Liar's Dice
My wife found some rules online we play with. I don't know how that compares to this BGG entry, but it's always entertaining. Everyone thinks of the Pirates of the Carribean scene with it, so it goes well.

--Werewolf
Ultimate Werewolf: Ultimate Edition is what we usually play, but we'll be trying out the new Ultimate Werewolf: Inquisition this year, I'm sure.

--Friday the 13th
Good theme, easy and quick to play.

--Zombie Dice
Same comment here.

--Kill Doctor Lucky
Themed pretty well for the season, but be careful of this with large numbers of players.

--The Big Idea
Not themed to Halloween, but goes over really well.

--Ghooost!
We haven't played this at Halloween yet, but it looks promising

--Nightfall
We haven't tried this on Halloween yet, but it has vampires, zombies, werewolves - all the Halloween tropes, if you want a deckbuilder for the holiday.

I'm going to vote for Betrayal as well, it's a good game, classic monsters, some horror but not too, too over the top. Though I do know one person who refused to play it again, claimed one of the cards was too descriptive for her.
