Didn't have much time for gaming, unfortunately. But I did get a chance to do a brief trial run of They Met at Gettysburg. I only played through one game turn, but learned the game mechanics which was my goal.

Every Sunday is Mice and Mystics for us. We're slowly working our way through the campaign. I'm not too proud to mention the game of Cthulhu Fluxx that took place before one person arrived, also.

I got another game of Hold the Line: Frederick's War which is a simple, short wargame that is absolutely dynamite for solo play. Second game in, enjoyed it even more than the first.

This is a great intro wargame for anyone looking to dip a toe in the water.

I'm playing that this week or next. Fortunately, it's cooled down a lot in Cinci so I'm able to get by with just my windows down.

/Stupid compressor next to the radiator with no protection.

Played some Netrunner against a friend. We both play with non-modified decks from the base set. I had always had trouble playing as the Jinteki Corporation faction, but I did well this time around.

The first game had me as Jinteki against his Kate McGaffrey. I had put the cheap ice Hunter on my R&D which actually dissuaded him from running a lot. He was able to get a Magnum Opus on the board, but I was also able to get a Melange Mining Co. protected by two layers of Neural Katana. I kept on melanging, while he drew cards, looking for The Toolbox. Eventually, he gave up and replaced his Battering Ram with Crypsis, which meant he was weak when it came to barrier type ice. Then I killed Melange and I replaced it with an agenda. Then I kept doing that until he tried to run R&D in the last turn. The next turn I was able to rez the final agenda and win. The game was really crazy because I was able to trash Aesop's Pawnshop, one of the best economic cards in the game because he was tagged. There was a point where he had no cards in hand as well, but I was not able to draw Neural EMP to finish him off.

Then we played a round 2 where I was Kate and he was NBN. I decided to run R&D and got an agenda off the bat! Then I ran his hand and got 1 more agenda, putting me at 4 on the first turn! I encountered some ice on his remote server later on, but luckily I had the correct ice and was able to steal another agenda, putting me at 5. He was able to score an agenda thanks to an upgrade he had. On the final turn, I played Tinkering to make his R&D ice wild. Then I played the Maker's Eye to access 3 cards from his R&D. The second card yielded another agenda, putting me at 8 and sealing my win.

Good times with Netrunner.
