Hi. I live in Williamsburg, but it looks like I'm moving to Prospect Heights/Park Slope in the next couple of months. I'm looking for a pre-existing group, or a couple of folks who want to get together for gaming and drinks. I would prefer the group to be somewhere in Brooklyn close to or in-between these two neighborhoods, but I'm flexible. My schedule is flexible at the moment as well, so almost anytime is good. I'm just getting back into this hobby, but I'm psyched about it and am willing to play almost anything. (I have a couple of buddies who get together on Sundays to play Settlers, but they refuse to deviate from this game, and I'm getting bored.)

I've purchased several games recently including WOW the BG, Fury of Dracula, Railroad Tycoon, Battlestations, Shadows over Camelot, and Arkham Horror to name a few. I'd love to get into any of these or am open to other suggestions. Let me know.

I know it's pretty much the opposite end of town from Brooklyn, but I thought I might as well invite you to attend the games group I started at Columbia law school. We meet every other Friday at 7pm, and play a variety of eurogames from my collection (e.g., Princes of Florence, Puerto Rico, Tigris & Euphrates). The website for the club in case you're curious is: http://www.columbia.edu/cu/csss/

Another gaming club in New York City I sometimes attend is the NYC Boardgame Meetup, which meets every other Thursday at 6pm. They meet at Neutral Ground (http://www.neutralground.com/), which is a game store on 26th Street, around 6th Ave. It's run by a few fellow BGGers, including "David Greene" and Daniel Jurnove ("skwm"). The website for that club is: http://boardgames.meetup.com/23/
(Lists of what they play there can be found at: http://tinyurl.com/e692y)

Good luck finding people down in Brooklyn, I think that's where Morgan Dontanville ("sisteray") is at, another active member of BGG.

There's at least a half-dozen of us hardcore gamers, ranging from Sunset Park to Flatbush to Crown Heights and the Slope. You can try me, Morgan ("sisteray"), John ("m_o_d_b_o_y"), Matt ("dr glaze et al"), and others that we can put you in touch with. We meet sporadically in various combinations at least a few times a month.

I also live in Park Slope. I attend the Meetup.com twice-monthly boardgame group - the F and Q trains in Park Slope (at 7th & Flatbush and 7th & 9th St, respectively) bring you very close to the location of the Meetup (26th St btwn 6th and 7th).

Another option is the NerdNYC boardgame nights, which are unfortunately not that frequent (about once every 6 weeks): http://www.nerdnyc.com

There's also the relatively new Columbia Strategic Simulation Society, which meets about every 2 weeks on Fridays from 7pm 'til whenever. It's up around 116th and Amsterdam, but they currently meet on the "off" week of the meetup meetups, so if you're really gung-ho you can get a regular weekly session between the 2 groups...[CURSES! beaten to the punch - that's what I get for firing off before reading the entire thread...hi Tom!]

And let's not forget that 6-8$ charge for the 4-hour session...

Thanks for the replies! Can't believe this thread was from a year ago, and I'm only responding now. I never wound up moving to the Park Slope area (moved to Greenpoint instead), but now that I've got time on my hands again, I'd like to try to get something going. I've got all kinds of games I'd like to try that I can't get my normal group into, and of course I'm open to almost anything.( check my collection or this thread from yesterday for an idea of what I'm into http://boardgamegeek.com/article/1397256#1397256) I've almost got more time than I know what to do with, so I could get together almost anytime. Let me know. Thanks again!

Hi, I'm also looking for gaming buddies in Brooklyn -- especially near Prospect Heights, where I just moved to for the summer. Interested in medium-to-heavy Euros (and occasionally lighter fare). Also willing to try any games I haven't yet (Rail games and wargames especially!).

Drop me a line, anyone in the area who feels like meeting up (especially this weekend -- I am itching to get my game on!).

I'd love to get together with a gaming group too. I just moved to Flatbush, right near the Beverly Road Q stop. Let me know if anyone needs another player... I'll play practically anything!

Hi,
I ran a thread about gaming in Queens. I happen to work in Brooklyn and that would be the easiest place for me to game (as opposed to going to Neutral Ground where I have been attending). I wouldn't mind starting a group in Brooklyn. There is a gaming store called Kings Games near Kings Hwy and Coney Island Ave. If there is enough interest I could contact the store and see if anything can be arranged.

Sam
