Well, Durham is a 20 minute train ride from Newcastle, and Durham University Games Society meets in Elvet Riverside on Saturdaya (10am-9.30 pm in theory, often more like 12 noon - 6 pm), and Mondays (6.30 pm to 9.30 pm). You don't have to be a member of the university to attend the meeting. Games Society does offer membership cards for £5, but they aren't necessary to attend the meetings, just to vote in the AGM.

Hope this helps.

Bloody students, can't get up in the mornings even when it is to play games.

Hello Ivan,
Well it's a stretch but we've had someone come down from Newcastle to Beyond Monopoly! in York before. Our next meet is this Saturday, 10.30am to 5.30pm, £3.40 for the day.

Our website has photos showing the walk round from the station to Guppys, our venue.

We're not all like that! I'd get up early for board games!
