Besides this forum here, are there any other places to find available artists? Specifically artists that work on board games would be best, but not necessary.

I am writing a series of articles on working with artists and I am hoping to gather up some resources to guide any readers in the right direction. This forum is on my list and probably deviant art, even though it can be a longshot sometimes.

Thanks everyone

Personally I would stay away from freelancer.com and places of its ilk, those sites in my opinion don't foster fair wages.

Other sites though you can go to are

Conceptart.org
Deviantart.com
Gameartisans.org(I think it's .org)
Cgsociety
Cgtalk

Just to name a few.

I had some artwork done for a card game I was making (still not got round to finishing it) by a guy I found on deviant art who lives in Indonesia. Very good images at a very good price: http://elangkarosingo.deviantart.com
He did a sample first so that I knew I'd be getting what I wanted and I'd definitely go back to him in the future
