I'm very happy too, but does this really change anything for our (custumers) purposes?

I explain better.
there are a number of P500 projects that made the cut months ago. Some have several hundreds of preorders more than the required minumum of 500, and still no news about production and shipping.

Probably the magic #500 is not that magic after all.
So, for this reason I ask if this new changes things making effectively the game closer to my shelf.

Yes. It means the game will be published and you'll be able to push around the cardboard counters. When? That's a question for GMT, but Unconditional Surrender has a tentative production slot in the last quarter of this year.

GMT placed the tentative publication slot at the beginning of the year when the order number was hovering around 470. It appears they had great confidence that the sufficient order numbers would be reached sooner than later. The fact that this title had a "tentative" slot before making 500 shows that the game is closer to being produced than other games that have been over P500 for a while.
Of course my conclusions are just logical reason as I have not spoke to GMT About the game. I'm just excited its getting closer to being on my table

Tentative means uncertain or not definite or positive. Basically don't place your expectations on the release date listed.

In there 31 July update, GMT Games provided the following:

Quote:
Tentative Production Schedule

....Also, after WBC, we'll be taking a hard look at 4Q releases and locking down exactly what's going to release this year and what will go into the 1st quarter, 2014. We'll get you that info in the next customer update. Here's what the current tentative game release schedule looks like:

4th Quarter, 2013 and 1st Quarter, 2014
1914: Offensive a Outrance
Blood & Roses
C&C Napoleonics: The Prussian Army
C&C Ancients Reprints of Expansions 2 & 3
Combat Commander BP 6: Sea Lion
Operation Dauntless
Panzer Expansion #3: Drive to the Rhine
Thunder Alley
Unconditional Surrender
Wild Blue Yonder

thank you, tentative production = plans for production of an item according a given (more or less optimistic) schedule.

Now is clear and makes sense.

Sorry but English is not my first language and I had difficulties to figure an item that is currently under "a production attempt" but the producer is not sure about the fact it will be produced or not ...

The last things of this kind I recall are certain secret WWII weapons

Not all P500 games that reach 500 preorders are published. But this one seems likely to make it.

I was at WBC this weekend and spoke with Tony Curtis of GMT. He said it was fine for me to say USE is scheduled to be published this winter.

It has been a long time since getting on P500 and I want to once again thank everyone for their support.

Came across this only today, looks very interesting. Whole European theatre, low counter density and the right level of rules complexity for me... looks I will be heading for the P500 too.

Cool. I have a play test version and love it. It seems to be just right in so many ways.

I am building a special light weight table for it that I can leave out or store easily. The table will be for some other games as well.
