Having trouble visualizing this based on the limited information so far.

1.Will the game allow for building out ships with specific technology?
Will I be able to add missiles, particle beams, shields, etc. prior to each engagement/scenario? Or, will more of the general technology types as found in Space Empires, attack 1, defense 2, etc.? Thinking about the old Master of Orion battle screen here.

2.Or, will the scenario come with ship technology that is preset for each scenario? Maybe this is what the create your own scenario is for?

3.This is what I am most interested in, so I am curious how this will tie into Space Empires? More details here would be great. Will it integrate with the Close Encounter expansion as well?

4.More information about the campaign game will be nice as well.

5.I see a reference that states this will not be a fighter combat game. Do this mean fighters are not represented at all?

On the fighter point, it does seem like they're only going to do capital ships. I think that's a bit of a shame, as I think the potential for bomber squadrons, escort roles, carriers and protecting them, and all of those aspects would seem to fit into the game.

But his games are always pretty modifiable, so I'm sure fighters will be able to be included in some capacity.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

No. The game comes with ships that are equipped with technology, power curve, shields, etc.

The game will come with 10 scenarios. Each scenario is a different battle. It could be 1 on 1 ship or it could be 8-9 ships on a side. Each scenario has a specific goal that goes along with the backstory.

As I mention, Space Empires will have to bend in order to work with Talon. In other words, the ships and technologies of Talon will be the available builds and technologies in Space Empires.

The non-Space Empires campaign will involve battling over sectors of space, gaining/losing territory, etc.

There are carriers and fighter squadrons in the game. I was just trying to make it clear that this is not about dogfighting as much as it was about fleet combat.

No! That was not the page that I submitted (someone else must have beat me to it) and I have already put in a correction request for 90 minutes.

Small scenarios take an hour to play. Large ones take 2 hours.

Will it be a one or a two mapper? Will there be planets and spacestations in form of larger counters to defend?

2 maps come with the game, but only 1 is needed for most of the scenarios. Yes, you definitely will have to defend planets....

What about the sequence of play. For me this is one of the fundamental aspects of the system.

And please, one of the two first races (the name is not important) must have ships with a Klingonian design (A very aggressive design)and possibly dark red because an Orc motto says: Red goes more fast and curiously, the modern psychology shows that it is true.
Maybe one of the future races may have alien living ships (Yes I love very much the "Remora" type ships of "Silent Death").
I ask too much? Christmas is coming

Why not play Silent Death "and giving up Talon?
Because to play SD I have to open the table to the maximum extent of 120x180 cm, a bit exaggerated if the game does not end in the evening.
Therefore, please do not widen out too.

It's fairly simple. There are six impulses in a turn. In each impulse one of the sides moves and fires first. After each impulse the initiative can change depending on whether or not one of the sides spent some of their precious power to change it. At the end of the 6th impulse there is a power phase where the speed/power ratio can be adjusted on each of your ships and some weapons charge/damage is repaired.

One ship spent his power and all the ships of the same player take advantage from this?
I suppose that in this case they make use of some sort of linking technology.
Or the ships of different players move in a sequence determined by the power expense?
I also suppose that the fire phase take place after the movement phase. The fire is contemporary or the ships alternate in firing? There are arcs of fire?

Power is critically important in this game. Each ship has a Power Curve and, once the speed of a ship is set, it tells you the turn radius of the ship as well as the available power. This power becomes available throughout the turn.

Your ship has shields, but the power can be used to reinforce them. Your ship's weapons automatically charge, but they can be charged faster by putting in extra power. Your ship has a turn radius, but spending power can make the ship turn tighter, etc.

Yes, thematically, the ships have linked sensors and targeting technology. Spending power will allow you to change the initiative.

On your part of the impulse, you move your ships. Your opponent moves his ships on his part of the impulse.

Nothing happens simultaneously. Your ships can fire on your half of the impulse. Your opponents ships can fire on his half of the impulse.

Yep, there are firing arcs.
