As with the new designer pages, we now have publisher pages and they are live. Please let me know if you see any bugs.

Publisher pages are comprised of:
- Publisher Profile
- Website
- Images
- Publisher Games
- Publisher's Game Forums
- Publisher Specific Forums

We're gonna be moving threads around, so you might see some stuff shift around a little.

Also, if you are starting new threads, please be aware of these new forum types.

A couple of ways - you can search for the publisher name, you can click from the game page, and you can click on the publisher badges.

Excellent! These and the designer pages promise to be very useful additions to the site.

A suggestion, given that these are still in the formative stages:

It would be nice to have some sort of indicator (text or icon) near the publisher's name showing whether the publisher was still around or not, still printing games or not, status unknown, etc.

How about adding the Publisher's logo somewhere at the top of the page? I know this is the wrong thread, but I think similarly the best photo of a designer could be shown somewhere at the top of the designer's page.

I think this and the designer pages are excellent additions to an already excellent resource. I would like to be able to browse through both sections via the Browse nav tab.

Again, brilliant. I hadn't yet fantasized about timelines for publishers, but I'm sure it was just a matter of time.

The Designer and Publisher pages both look great!

I'd like to repeat the call for an "uber-Forum" search that will cross into the publisher, designer, and game pages as well as the standard discussion forums.

A number of threads seem to have been relocated from the general discussion area to these hinterlands (publisher, designer, and game-specific). It would be useful to still be able to find the information in these posts via Search, rather than having to play a guessing game on where a thread may have been relocated to. (Or, for that matter, where the original poster may have though was the most appropriate place for a topic.)

Thanks, great idea! Our pub page doesn't have a web page link yet; it's http://www.fantasyflightgames.com, when you get a moment to update it.

Scott:

How do you make changes to the pages? (I'm on a IE5.5 computer right now, so BGG looks miserable, but that's not your fault) If it's hidden by ads (cause of IE5.5), I'll wait until I get home to make the additions.

Thanks!

These are great! One of the things you hear from wargamers is how much they like the direct player-to-publisher discourse offered on other websites. And now that BGG has a dedicated forum for each designer and publisher, I hope and expect that we'll see a lot more communication on these boards! Another leap towards making BGG the central place to go to for gaming info. Kudos!!

Aldie,

I was looking to help out by putting some of the web page links under the publishers. Is there a way for admins to add the web page (or perhaps logo) to the publisher page?

Never mind. Silly me. I found it.

Edit: Wooo Hoo! It worked for Z-Man. Now on to Fantasy Flight fix!

Edit 2: What is the difference between Fantasy Flight Games (17) and Fantasy Flight (4873), which has no games?

http://www.boardgamegeek.com/publisher/17

http://www.boardgamegeek.com/publisher/4873

Edit 3: Any other publishers want to tell me what they officially want there?

Edit 4: Can someone point me to a list of publisher web sites?
Edit 5: OK found one at: http://bgdf.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=198...

Will Designer and Publisher eventually make their way to the Browse drop-down menu as well? My gut feeling is that getting to the pages is a little unintuitive at present - I know that my first try was the menu system, and when that came up empty I tried search.

The pages themselves are awesome, which is why I'd like to see them easily accessed.

Kudos!

Your right. I think that has to be taken on by Aldie.

Edit: Ah-ha! All I had to do was add the http:// to the front! Fixed!

This could take a while. Since we need to check each page to make sure it goes somewhere. For example here is another list out of the BGDF article:

An extensive list of publishers can be found here (in Dutch, shouldn't be a problem though, A-M):
http://www.bordspel.com/links/uitgever.html
and here (N-Z):
http://www.bordspel.com/links/uitgever2.html

I cannot check all those sites (I was playing with it while waiting on a job to finish at work.) But anyone wanted to help, and if they could check them, then post a list here that works, then I could cut and paste them into the admin pages.

Anyway, I may get back to it this evening.

I agree! Put links in the meny otherwise lots of people will never find those great pages.

Same here.

It would be cool if the default sort order was by rating, so the best or most famous games would always come up on top.

As far as I can tell, the dif is that 17 is us, whereas 4873 is either somebody making another entry for us by mistake or is some other company with a similar name. Good thing we're not very litigious .

Thanks!
