Hi

Im thinking about getting this game for a themed horror night. The players will all be non gamers. I have previously played Zombies!!! with them - which they enjoyed - and Betrayal at the House On the Hill - which got a mixed reception....

How do you think the game is likely to be received by non-gamers?

Thanks

I think it should go over pretty well. It is a pretty easy game to learn & to teach.

I recommend printing out the player aids, so people understand the turn order.

The cards are the part that will most likely confuse people. so be prepared for that.

Also, I found that people tended to be a bit confused by the Grocery Store's weaknesses.

Also, one nuance that affects play. Make people use their voting wheels. Yes, I know it sounds silly, but in recent games we had a lot of "verbal voting". I think getting into the habit of voting with the wheels encourages much more devious play.

For example, I may say that I'm voting for you, but I'm actually voting for myself (or someone else).

I introduced this to a group of non-board gamers and it went over really quite well. Most were only familiar with standard American board games or had seen Settlers, at most.
