There has been a fair amount of discussion about the origins of the Bolide system. It appears to have substantial roots in other games.

Here is a way to try a version on your Pocket PC:

http://www.freewareppc.com/games/formulaboard.shtml

There are extra tracks elsewhere on the web, but I cannot find them now.

I should have said that the game is called "Formula Board".

I get to the page that describes it, but the download does not work for me (despite the several pop-ups that I *do* get). Am I missing something?

The origin???

Well, my father learned me this game when I was little, that's more than 20 years ago. We used to play it with pen and paper (on math notebooks' sheets) along with "Battleships" and a couple of other games. For me, selling this game is like selling a boxed and colorful version of "Tic-Tac-Toe" , but, guess what? - that's already been done.
