Hi everyone, we'll use this forum for further discussions, especially about where and when to meet to exchange.

Re: MONTREAL area math trade discussion
Even though I live in Drummondville, the date doesn't really bother me, except if it's a thursday night.

I would believe we would meet during a weekend or a friday night.

For me, beside march 24 and 25th, I have no problem with any days.

A place easy to go to, close to a highway... I was thinking either "Place Versaille" or "Galerie d'Anjou". They both have a huge parking, and a restaurant area were we could meet.

And if we had to wait for someone, at least we could sit down, eat something or chat about our hobby. The only issue is that it would have to be during a weekend day afternoon, or a friday night, but then again, it would shrink the waiting period.

Anyway, it's just a tought, fire away. I don't event know if one of my offer will be taken yet!

Hope to see you all soon, have a great day!!

Galerie d'Anjou seems nice to me since it's closer to my place, but I think Place Versaille is a better idea because it has a metro accross the street.

Place Versaille sounds OK. I wouldn't mind going over there to do the trades. Being close to a metro is good thing.

Re: MONTREAL area math trade discussion
I understand your concern Titan, but what if I have 3 trades going on, involving 6 different people... Let's say I'm trading game 1-2 and 3. Game 1 goes to person A, Game 2 goes to person B and game 3 goes to person C. And the three people I'm receiving game from are person D-E and F... Will I have to manage six meeting?

Ho, and by re-reading the Math Trade list info, I copied point number 6.

6. Location: This trade is mostly meant for people who are willing to deliver their games in the Montreal area. I will try to arrange 1 day in March where as many people can meet to exchange games as possible, somewhere downtown most likely (although I a certainly open to other suggestions). If someone cannot attend this group meeting, then it is the responsibility of the person trading the game to arrange a time to deliver the game with the recipient.

The way I understand it is that we'll try to get as many trade done as possible on a certain day, and whoever can't make it, will have to manage the exchange with the person in question. And then again, if I have only one trade going on and I receive the game from the same person... I don't mind arranging a personal meeting.

And I'll gladly follow any group decision that is made.

Re: MONTREAL area math trade discussion
**Caution: Shilling ahead**

How about if we use the Montreal Boardgames Meetup Group's next meeting as the main trade location?
It'll be Saturday March 18th, from 1:00-6:00pm, at Concordia University, 1455 de Maisonneuve W (right by Guy-Concordia metro). We meet up on the 7th floor, in the sort-of-cafeteria area.

Advantages of meeting here:
-Downtown, pretty accessible location
-A weekend afternoon is probably as convenient as it gets
-At least a few people participating in the trade are going to be there anyway
-After the trading is done, we can all sit down for some gaming!

Obviously, there is no single time and place that will work for everyone, but it seems like a fairly sound choice. We can say that trading will take place from 1:00-1:30, then anyone who is done can leave, and anyone who wants to play some games can stick around for the duration.

I'm with Johnny.
It would be a great occasion to meet some of you folks.

While I'm here, it would be impossible for me from March30 to April2nd.. I'll be (war)gaming all weekend long at "GMT Games East 2006" in White Plains cool

Place Versailles or Concordia university ? The endless east/west cleavage is still at works..... Why not use the old compromise and meet somewhere on St-Laurent street ?

Just kidding I will go where the group will agree if i'm in the trade (but my car still prefer a cold parking lot like Place Versailles)

Apparently so, but what may be more interesting is that it looks like there is some role reversal going on here. You'd think that we'd(English) want a quick meeting and then take off. But here you have the reverse taking place. What's going on here?

Jason, playing the congeniality of a boardgame meeting versus the coldness of a quick meeting in a parking, giving me the role of the bad guy is a nice move. But against this move i will play my "schedule" card. This card mitigate the effect of the boardgame meeting, and give some power to the time and convenience factor of the parking lot.

Re: MONTREAL area math trade discussion (7 lists left)
I'm still voting for Place Versailles, since it's close to the highway, and easier for me to get back home. But that's the case if we meet the 18th. But if the final decision is there, I'm hoping to meet inside, where there's a food court. Why wait in our car?

Anyway, just a thought, so that even if I can't stay and play a game, I would enjoy a coffee with some new found board gaming buddies!

See most of you soon!

Alrighty, 2 hours left until midnight, I'm still missing 6 people. I'd really like to get their lists, as they represent about 22 games. So if anyone knows the scragglers, please remind them that their lists are due.

Here's the deal, I'm going to watch House now, I'll run the trade program afterwards, so results should be posted around....

1:00.

This will give the late people an extra 30 minutes to get their lists in. Does this seem fair to everyone, or should I run it at midnight pil.

I don't think there's any harm in being lenient and even waiting until tomorrow...

There's no real rush.

I am happy to see the results when I woke up this morning before leaving for work.

Thank you Chad.

Yeah, this is cool! I got a bunch of games. Posted 6 and got 4 trades. Not bad. Settlers didn't get in a trade even tough it was in the wanted list of a lot of people. Absolutely nobody wanted Trade In.

I give:

Wizard Kings to Louis Raymond
Diamant to Daniel Lesage
GIPF to Michel Drapeau
Mare Nostrum to Francis Perron

I receive:

Evo, Palazzo, Can't Stop and Empire of the Sun (really wanted this one! Yay)
