The second season of SURVIVOR: Werewolf Island will begin on Monday March 13th. 21 contestants will try to outwit, outplay and outlast their fellow players to win the grand prize.

To spice things up a little, I will run the Survivor: Werewolf Island pool. How it works is that you list all the players in the game from 1 to 21. The one you put at number 1 is your prediction for the Sole Survivor, number 21 is the one you think will be dropped first.

After each elimination, you score 1 point for each person that is still on the island that you predicted would still be there. Once we reach the last 9, the points per player goes up to 3 per. 5 points for the last 2 and 7 points for the sole survivor.

So if you predict Shugyosha to be the Sole Survivor and you are right, you score 1 point for round 1, 1 for round 2 and so on until you get the final 7 points for predicting the sole survivor. If you predict Shugyosha for sole survivor and he is eliminated 2nd, you will score 1 point for him being still there after the first elimination, but no more points after that. Thus the more people you have still alive in the game, the more points you score.

Additional rules:
PM me (shugyosha) with your entries and questions (the latter you may post to the thread). Questions about the game itself should be directed to Yekrats.

I will allow each entrant to make 2 entries. People playing in the game itself are welcome. This is for nothing more than bragging rights anyway.

Points are scored after each elimination (by whatever method). If two eliminations occur at once (say, within 30 minutes of each other by BGG timestamp), both are considered gone at once (will shorten the number of rounds).

If a player is re-introduced, you will score nothing while they are out of the game, but will resume scoring for them once they are back in the game as normal.

I’ll make rulings if anything unexpected comes up, but this should be straightforward.

Follow the game in the BGG Werewolf Forum (link here once the game starts).

Let's do some GG gambling for it, eh? I'm in the actual game, and I'm thinking I don't want to be making enemies of the other players unless I stand to earn some cold, hard, virtual, boardgame-related cash in the process.

Big problem here.

You would be creating a bad metagame situation if you did that. You would then have a large metagame incentive to keep a certain person around longer than another, for no reason relevant to the game.

I don't like it.

Nice idea for those outside the game Shugy. But as I'm in the game I will not be participating.

Oh, I was in the first season and in the pool. It was just for fun. It didn't influence any decisions of mine. I'm in for the pool, Shug.

There's no on the line here. The original idea was to play for but there just wasn't enough takers.

We had several players in the last pool that were in the game as well. Ideally, you would avoid that but the pool is much more fun with more people. Anyway, no one is going to base who they vote out on this pool, I guarantee it. And for most of the eliminations, the individual player has not enough say to make it happen anyway.

Plus, this is quite impossible to predict. This is why I give two entries to everyone because one will likely be out of the running quite quickly.

I didn't read or play the last one, but I had fun in the pool... it made me feel like I still had some interesting in the Survivor game.

Still room for more, though Jwandke claims to already have picked the perfect sheet. Still, there is the battle for second place.

I'll start needing people to put their picks in too (PMs coming out for those that haven't).

how many people are in this now? 4? 5?

i can beat 4 others, I cannot beat more than 6.

Everyone's picks are in. I am slowly getting the data entered into my spreadsheet.

Taking me a while, with the distractions...

Feel free to post eliminees here too.

First voted off:

CapAp
BagpipeDan

First werewolf victim:

Seanp

Cap and Dan are considered simultaneous eliminations for the pool.

Sean is separate.

Still finishing entering data in the spreadsheet... blush

The whole "wolf from another tribe picks the kill" might do in quite a few unexpected victims. It's a good game development, but it sure did suck to go... I hope I can take it as a compliment that I'm the first one eaten.

The spreadsheet is done. Of course it was done last night whle BGG was down.

I don't have the full points spread, but I do remember that Acekim picked both Dan and Seanp to be out early and thus he is our early leader.

Everyone else is a point or two behind. As AP noted, his winner is gone. I think everyone else's is still there.

I'd like to share the picks. Anyone who wants the sheet, PM me with an email address.

I could also post them all here but it will take a while. I'll probably do that.

Well, I think I chose you for early exit along with Lauramath and others as you all seem to be targeted early for whatever reason. We'll need an additional seanp rule soon if this continues (don't kill or lynch him on D1, especially if replacement player)...

I also thought that after jmglidden's victory, he wouldn't be around for long this time, as his motivation may have subsided.

Other than that I have no idea why I'm in the lead (since I can't follow that behemoth of a game), although I expect that this lead will be short-lived, like my NCAA pool entry.
