You want to check out The Compleat Strategiston 33rd st between Madison and 5th Ave in Manhattan. It's the best gamer selection in the area... not the cheapest, but the best selection hands down imo.

Seriously, if you're from America, there's no advantage to buying games in an American store on your vacation. For one thing, you will spend more than you would if you bought them online. Second, you are going to be filling your luggage with games that you can easily get online. Why not get something more unique to your trip in New York?

It would be one thing if you were visiting Germany and wanted to pick up the latest games that are not available here yet at prices lower than you will ever find them here. But to buy games in New York when you are from the U.S. - to me does not make much practical sense.

online is usually cheaper than the brick and mortar store BUT you shold support your local game store 1st. The Complete Strat is more money than the online stores but they pay Manhatan rent for you to see and touch the box. There's another store, Neutral Grounds that has a large open gaming area. Give the local guys a break

I can understand supporting your local store in this way. However, not when going on a trip somewhere within the country. Unless you are driving and can stick it in your car somewhere or something. If you are going through the airport and need to lug your bags around, etc, it's not practical or beneficial. Let the New Yorkers support those stores.
