Hi all, I'm new here, and from what I can tell, I'll be staying a while.

I was referred to you by an august member in response to my plea to assist with my quest.

I mean to find out WHO WE ARE! Meaning we, ROle Players, Wargamers, and Miniature fans alike.

A long standing debate with my circle of ne'er-do-wells has led me to the point of creating a survey to understand WHO WE ARE.

http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=181131867834

If you fancy helping a
...42 year old guy
...been wargaming for 28 years
...has over 60 games

Please take the 2 minutes on average and fill out the survey. Have your voice counted!

I'll gladly share the results with anyone who wants. (Due to friends passing it along, the survey has already made it to over 20 forums! So feel free!)

Thanks again,

Lou G

If it's not too huge why not post the results (or a link) here? I'm curious to see what you learn (and I took the survey).

I am curious as to why non-war games were left from the survey... even though I own over 400 board wargames, I rarely play them anymore, in favour of more accessible games.

Most two-player wargames, unless they are fast playing games like Battle Cry, are just not inducive to club play. Even on one of our 'Games Days' it's hard to get five people together to play a game like A Game of Thrones, let alone something like Terrible Swift Sword.

I did not finish the survey because I found that all my answers would be very misleading. The game category choices are: war games, RPGs and miniatures !
What about Euro games, party games etc. ?
I play 95% Euro games and 1% miniatures and 4% war games. There was no way to convey this?
Good iniative though.

Same here. I love wargames, but I probably play more Euros than wargames (despite considering myself a wargamer).

In Question #7, I assume you meant 11-20, not 10-11.

Some interesting questions you could have asked:

How many different wargames have you played?

Of the games you own, how many have you played?
More than once?
